Function Overview

This function serves as the primary revenue generation engine for Firstpost, driving new client acquisition and managing ongoing client relationships across the pan-India market. This function combines strategic business development with consultative selling to identify, engage, and convert prospects into long-term brand partnership opportunities. The team focuses on brands and organizations that align with Firstpost's news and lifestyle positioning, selling the complete range of brand solutions offerings from short-term campaigns to comprehensive annual partnerships. Working closely with the Brand Solutions team, they translate market opportunities into revenue while building and maintaining strong client relationships that drive sustained business growth.

Key Responsibilities

New Client Acquisition & Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across brands that align with Firstpost's news and lifestyle content positioning
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to acquire new clients across various industry verticals and company sizes
  • Build a robust sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, and relationship building activities
  • Convert prospects into clients through consultative selling and strategic relationship development

Full Portfolio Sales & Solution Positioning

  • Sell the complete range of Firstpost's brand solutions offerings including video content, social campaigns, branded articles, and integrated marketing solutions
  • Position appropriate solutions based on client needs, objectives, and budget parameters
  • Develop comprehensive proposals that combine multiple service offerings for maximum client value and revenue opportunity
  • Educate prospects on the full spectrum of available brand solutions and their strategic benefits

Brand Solutions Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the brand solutions team to develop compelling client presentations and campaign proposals
  • Collaborate on creative concepts and strategic recommendations during the sales process
  • Leverage brand solutions expertise to strengthen client presentations and demonstrate creative capabilities
  • Coordinate seamlessly between sales conversations and creative strategy development

Client Relationship Management

  • Manage ongoing relationships with newly acquired clients to ensure satisfaction and identify growth opportunities
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients acquired through their sales efforts
  • Build long-term partnerships that extend beyond individual campaigns to comprehensive brand solution relationships
  • Maintain regular client communication to understand evolving needs and identify upselling opportunities

Deal Structure & Contract Negotiation

  • Structure deals ranging from single campaigns to comprehensive annual partnerships based on client requirements
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contract conditions within established flexibility parameters
  • Develop customized partnership structures that meet both client objectives and Firstpost revenue goals

Strategic Sales Planning & Market Analysis

  • Develop independent strategic thinking for client solutions while collaborating with the brand solutions team
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and client needs to identify new business opportunities
  • Create sales strategies that leverage Firstpost's unique positioning in news and lifestyle content
  • Contribute strategic insights to help shape product offerings and market positioning

Proposal Development & Presentation

  • Collaborate with the brand solutions teams for technical and creative proposal creation.
  • Build compelling sales presentations that demonstrate value proposition and competitive advantages
  • Present solutions to client decision-makers with confidence and strategic insight
  • Customize proposals to address specific client challenges and business objectives

Sales Process Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate sales pipeline tracking and forecasting for revenue planning purposes
  • Coordinate post-sale handoff to the campaign management team while staying informed of campaign progress
  • Document client requirements, preferences, and feedback for future reference and team coordination
  • Ensure smooth transition from sales to execution while maintaining client relationship continuity
