Role Overview

The Deputy Project Manager (Civil) will assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising civil construction and infrastructure projects. The role requires strong technical expertise in civil engineering, project management, and team leadership to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager in the planning, scheduling, and execution of civil construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Review and interpret drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and contracts.
  • Ensure project execution as per design, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and site engineers to resolve technical issues.
  • Monitor progress, resources, budgets, and timelines, ensuring adherence to project plans.
  • Prepare and present MIS reports, progress reviews, and project documentation to senior management.
  • Assist in tendering, estimation, and cost control activities.
  • Lead and mentor site teams, engineers, and supervisors to achieve daily/weekly targets.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, safety norms, and environmental standards.
  • Address and resolve site-level disputes, risks, and delays in coordination with senior management.
  • Support client handling, approvals, and stakeholder communications.

Education & Qualifications

  • B.E./ B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized institute (IIT/NIT/top-ranked university preferred).
  • M.Tech / Post-Graduate Diploma in Construction or Project Management (NICMAR or equivalent) desirable.

Experience

  • 8–12 years of progressive experience in civil construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a team lead / deputy management role.
  • Proven exposure to EPC, industrial, commercial, or large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering codes, standards, and construction practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Project / Primavera / AutoCAD / ERP tools.
  • Strong skills in project scheduling, budgeting, estimation, and contract management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
