Job Description

  • Inventory Management:

    • Receive and verify materials and supplies delivered to the site, ensuring that they meet the quality and quantity specifications.
    • Maintain an up-to-date inventory system, tracking all materials in and out of the store.
    • Conduct weekly physical stock audits to ensure accuracy and prevent stock discrepancies.
    • Issue materials to construction teams as per project requirements, ensuring that they are used efficiently.
  • Storage and Organization:

    • Ensure that materials are stored safely, following health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Organize and categorize materials in the store to facilitate easy access and inventory control.
    • Ensure that materials are handled and stored in a way that prevents damage and deterioration.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Prepare and maintain accurate records for all material transactions, including receipts, issues, and stock returns.
    • Generate and submit inventory reports as and when require to the management team.
    • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with CM/Procurement to reorder materials when stock levels are low.
  • Coordination with Other Departments:

    • Liaise with the procurement team to ensure the timely delivery of construction materials.
    • Work closely with project managers and construction teams to understand material requirements and deliver them in a timely manner.
    • Communicate any material shortages or issues to the management team promptly.
  • Safety Compliance:

    • Ensure that all materials are handled in compliance with safety standards.
    • Implement and maintain safe working practices within the store area.
    • Conduct safety checks on storage areas and materials, ensuring that fire prevention and hazard mitigation protocols are in place.
  • Stock Maintenance and Control:

    • Monitor the shelf life of materials, ensuring that materials are used before expiry, especially for those with a limited shelf life.
    • Monitor and manage tools and equipment in the store and ensure they are in working order.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Propose and implement improvements in the store operations, inventory management, and material handling processes.
