Position Type: Contractor- Freelance

Rate:$4-$6

Applicants must reside in India and be authorized to work as an independent contractor with 

overlapping working hours of Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Our English Group, LLC is seeking a Data Entry / Metadata Specialist to support the 

extraction, organization, and integration of large-scale course metadata for our learning 

platforms. This is a flexible, project-based role within a fast-growing education startup where 

precision, consistency, and efficiency directly impact how learners access and experience our 

programs.

The specialist will be responsible for converting SCORM packages into structured JSON 

metadata, and then creating, validating, and importing that data into PostgreSQL using Prisma or 

a comparable migration tool. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, technically 

skilled, and capable of maintaining data accuracy at scale.

You will collaborate with the AI team to ensure metadata aligns with defined database 

schemas, maintain version control, and perform validation and QA checks. The ideal candidate 

will bring strong experience with JSON and relational databases, along with the ability to work 

independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment. A successful candidate will combine 

technical accuracy with a process-driven mindset, contributing to the reliability and scalability of 

Our English Group’s digital learning systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, validate, and import JSON course metadata into PostgreSQL using Prisma or a 

comparable migration tool. 

• Extract and convert SCORM packages into structured JSON metadata, ensuring accurate 

data representation and compatibility with existing database schemas.

• Collaborate with the AI team to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with 

defined schemas. 

• Manage data mapping, schema updates, and version control through Git. 

• Write and maintain scripts to automate data validation and import processes. 

• Conduct QA and spot checks to confirm schema conformance and correct data 

relationships. 

• Document workflows, maintain organized records, and report ambiguities or 

inconsistencies to subject matter experts. 

• Support scalability and quality through efficient data handling, strong organization, and 

clear communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in data management, database operations, or 

metadata processing for digital products or educational platforms. 

• Advanced proficiency with JSON, including schema validation, transformation, and 

debugging. 

• Experience extracting and converting SCORM package data into structured JSON 

metadata for use in database systems.

• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL, with experience in schema design, constraints, 

indexes, and data integrity management. 

• Demonstrated experience using Prisma or equivalent ORM and migration tools to 

manage large-scale data imports. 

• Skilled in writing and maintaining scripts for automated data validation and seeding. 

• Proficiency with Git and command-line tools such as psql and Prisma CLI. 

• Proven ability to maintain accuracy and consistency across large, complex datasets. 

• Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to clearly define data mapping, QA steps, 

and validation processes. 

• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail, with a commitment to quality and 

efficiency. 

• Experience working with AI-driven data workflows, JSON validation frameworks (AJV 

or Pydantic), or educational metadata is a strong plus.

Physical Requirements

This is a remote, computer-based role. The position requires prolonged periods of sitting 

and working at a desk, as well as regular use of a computer, mouse, and keyboard. 

Additional Information

• This is a contracted position. All work is project based and does not constitute an offer of 

employment

• Access to required software will be provided by Our English Group, LLC

• Compensation and scope of work will be outlined in a separate contractor agreement

• Compensation will be processed through Rippling, with currency and payment 

preferences configured during contractor onboarding; this is a contract role with the 

potential to transition to a full-time position based on performance and project needs

• Contractors are responsible for complying with all applicable tax, invoicing, and 

regulatory requirements in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates

• All work produced is the property of Our English Group, LLC and may not be used or 

distributed without written permission

• Selected applicants may be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement and/or independent 

contractor agreement prior to starting work

• Contractors may be required to complete basic data security training and adhere to Our

English Group, LLC confidentiality and content protection standard
