Job Title: Credit Officer (Mortgage & Lending)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Credit Officer with strong experience in Mortgage and Lending to join our client’s team. The Credit Officer will play a pivotal role in evaluating mortgage and lending credit applications, conducting credit checks, and ensuring compliance with internal credit policies and international lending standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Evaluation:

• Assess the creditworthiness of customers specifically for mortgage and lending products by analyzing financial information, credit reports, income documents, and payment histories.
• Make informed credit decisions in line with mortgage underwriting guidelines.

Credit Analysis:

• Conduct detailed analysis of mortgage and loan applications, including review of financial statements, bank records, income verification, assets, liabilities, and credit reports.
• Identify risks and recommend appropriate credit limits, loan terms, and conditions.

Mortgage & Lending Expertise:

• Review and analyze home loans, mortgage files, refinancing, and other lending products as per international mortgage guidelines.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of mortgage documentation and credit files.

Customer Interaction:

• Communicate with customers or internal teams to gather missing information, clarify application details, and resolve credit-related queries.
• Support negotiation of credit terms when required.

Credit Policy & Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to company credit policies, mortgage lending regulations, and applicable legal and compliance standards.
• Maintain compliance with international lending norms and quality benchmarks.

Documentation & Record-Keeping:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of mortgage credit applications, approvals, and related documentation.

Risk Mitigation:

• Identify potential credit risks in mortgage and lending cases and provide recommendations to minimize exposure while supporting business goals.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with underwriting, sales, operations, and finance teams to resolve credit issues and support smooth loan processing.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Mortgage Credit Analysis, Lending, or Credit Evaluation within the financial services or international process domain.
• Strong understanding of mortgage underwriting, lending products, credit risk assessment, and financial analysis.
• Knowledge of credit laws, lending regulations, and compliance standards.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in credit evaluation tools, mortgage systems, and financial software.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.

• This role may require interaction with customers, internal stakeholders, or external agencies for mortgage and lending-related verifications.
