Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) – Propulsion

As a CVE for Propulsion, you will work closely with propulsion designers, integration teams, and regulators to verify the conformity of powerplants, electric propulsion systems, and related subsystems. Your expertise will directly contribute to ensuring the safety and regulatory compliance of our propulsion technologies.


Key Responsibilities:

· Compliance Verification:

  • Serve as the designated CVE (Propulsion) for verifying compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., CS-E, CS-23/25, FAR-23/25, DGCA CAR 21).
  • Review and approve propulsion system design documents, performance analysis, and certification substantiation reports.
  • Evaluate compliance demonstration methods including simulations, tests, and safety assessments.

· Regulatory Engagement:

  • Act as the liaison with certification authorities (DGCA, EASA, FAA) on propulsion-related matters.
  • Participate in propulsion system reviews, audits, and certification board meetings.

· Technical Oversight:

  • Oversee system integration and ensure that propulsion units meet airworthiness and safety requirements.
  • Provide technical direction and feedback during design iterations, failure mode analysis, and verification planning.

· Documentation & Reporting:

  • Ensure the development and maintenance of compliance matrices, technical dossiers, and regulatory submission packages.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of approvals, reviews, and compliance activities.

· Testing & Validation:

  • Support the definition, planning, and execution of propulsion system testing (endurance, thermal, vibration, EMI, etc.).
  • Validate test results and correlate them with design models and compliance requirements.

· Collaboration & Support:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including powertrain, systems, avionics, and safety engineering.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to propulsion and integration engineers on certification standards.


Qualifications:

· Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Or any other relevant technical discipline


Core Knowledge Requirements:

  • In-depth understanding of propulsion system certification specifications (e.g., CS-E, CS-23, CS-25)
  • Familiarity with company Design Organization procedures and configuration control processes
  • Solid knowledge of DGCA CAR 21 regulations and propulsion-related chapters and procedures
  • Knowledge of continued airworthiness principles and failure management strategies for propulsion systems


Technical Skills:

  • Strong grasp of propulsion engineering principles including thrust, efficiency, thermal management, and integration
  • Experience in testing and validating propulsion systems (including electric and hybrid)
  • Understanding of aviation safety standards applicable to propulsion (e.g., fire protection, redundancy, reliability)
  • Capability to assess compliance data, safety analyses (FMEA/FTA), and verification strategies


Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying potential non-compliance risks
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in technical reviews
  • Effective communicator with the ability to document, present, and justify technical decisions
  • Collaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous appointment as CVE (Propulsion) under DGCA/EASA/FAA is a strong advantage
  • Experience with electric propulsion systems (eVTOL, hybrid-electric aircraft)
  • Familiarity with DO-160 environmental testing standards and propulsion-specific test protocols
  • Experience with PLM/ERP systems and digital compliance management tools
