The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world.There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. Key Responsibilities:

AWS Cloud Operations
  • Monitor AWS infrastructure for availability, performance, and security issues.
  • Review alerts, notifications, and system events, ensuring appropriate escalation and resolution.
  • Create and manage support tickets in the service desk for incident tracking.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as patching, updates, and backup verification.
Azure Cloud Operations
  • Monitor Azure instance infrastructure, ensuring uptime and performance.
  • Review alerts, events, and notifications, and act accordingly to remediate issues.
  • Take proactive and reactive measures to correct and prevent recurring issues.
  • Support routine operational tasks such as VM provisioning, configuration, and updates.
General Support & Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with peers, L1 teams, and managers regarding system issues and escalations.
  • Participate in incident, request, and change management processes.
  • Provide support in problem analysis and assist in RCA preparation for critical issues.
  • Contribute to documentation, knowledge base (KBase), and SOPs for cloud operations.

Tools & Platforms:

  • AWS Cloud Services (EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Azure Cloud Services (VMs, Resource Manager, Monitor, Security Center, etc.)
  • Monitoring & alerting tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, third-party tools)
  • Ticketing/ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, JIRA, or equivalent)

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 4–7 years of experience in cloud support/operations with AWS and Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring, alert management, and incident handling in cloud environments.
  • Experience in performing routine maintenance, patching, and operational tasks.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Request, Change, and Problem Management).
  • Good understanding of cloud networking, storage, and security best practices.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate / Azure Solutions Architect
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) – added advantage

Soft Skills:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to work in 24x7 support model / rotational shifts.
  • Proactive approach towards issue prevention and service improvement.
