JJob Summary

The Catering Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all catering operations to ensure high-quality food service, customer satisfaction, cost control, and smooth execution of catering events and orders.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Event Management

  • Plan, organize, and manage catering events, bulk orders, and daily catering operations.
  • Coordinate with clients regarding menus, pricing, delivery schedules, and special requirements.
  • Ensure timely preparation, packaging, and delivery of food items.

Menu Planning & Food Quality

  • Coordinate with chefs for menu planning and customization based on client needs.
  • Ensure food quality, taste, presentation, and portion control.
  • Maintain hygiene, food safety standards, and FSSAI compliance.

Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise catering staff.
  • Assign duties and monitor staff performance during events and operations.
  • Ensure discipline, punctuality, and teamwork among staff.

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Monitor raw material usage, inventory levels, and vendor supplies.
  • Control food costs, wastage, and operational expenses.
  • Coordinate with purchase and stores department for timely procurement.

Customer Service & Sales Support

  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally.
  • Support sales team in securing new catering orders and corporate tie-ups.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and vendors.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain event records, invoices, staff attendance, and expense reports.
  • Prepare daily/weekly operational reports for management.
  • Ensure proper billing and payment follow-ups.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer-handling ability
  • Knowledge of catering operations, food safety, and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple events
  • Cost control and basic budgeting skills

Qualification & Experience

  • Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management, Catering Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 3–5 years experience in catering or food service operations
  • Experience in event catering or bulk food production preferred

Working Conditions

  • Flexible working hours including weekends and holidays
  • Fieldwork during events and outdoor catering assignments
