Category Manager

As a Category Buyer at Vishal Mega Mart, you will be responsible for managing the Personal Care and Home Care product portfolio. Your role will involve strategic sourcing, vendor management, product development, cost negotiation, quality assurance, and market analysis to provide high-quality, competitively priced, and innovative private label offerings that meet customer demands and business objectives. - Developing and executing comprehensive category strategies for products such as skincare, haircare, oral care, bath & body, household cleaning, and laundry care - Conducting market research, trend analysis, and competitive benchmarking to identify new product opportunities and category white spaces - Analyzing sales data, customer feedback, and market insights to optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies - Managing OTB and allocation plans - Identifying, evaluating, and onboarding new manufacturers and suppliers globally and domestically for private label products - Ensuring adherence to quality, ethical, and sustainability standards - Overseeing existing vendor relationships, monitoring performance, and driving improvements in product quality, delivery, and service - Delivering on budgeted sales, margin, and RGM targets - Managing category budgets, sales forecasts, and inventory levels - Conducting cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction - Monitoring category performance against key KPIs like sales growth, gross margin, inventory turnover, and market share - Collaborating with the Quality Assurance team to ensure all private label products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements - Addressing product quality issues and customer complaints effectively and promptly To excel in this role, you should have a Master's degree along with 8-12 years of relevant experience.
