Category Manager – Teaching (UGC NET).


Location: Bangalore, in-office role.


Role Overview

We are looking for a Category Manager to lead, optimize, and scale the Teaching and UGC NET category. This role requires someone who can strengthen existing systems, streamline operations, and drive consistent revenue growth. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve daily performance, refine the user experience, and ensure high-quality academic delivery.

The ideal candidate understands the dynamics of competitive exam preparation, can manage faculty and academic workflows effectively, and can drive structured growth through data-backed decisions and continuous optimization.


Key Responsibilities


* Take end-to-end ownership of the category P&L, ensuring sustainable revenue growth and efficient cost management.

* Improve and execute the business plan for the category with a strong focus on revenue and profitability, conversions, and learner outcomes.

* Focus on user acquisition and conversion rate optimization.

* Conduct regular research on competitor platforms, exam updates, and evolving market demands.

* Collaborate with marketing, product, operations, and sales teams for GTM execution, campaign planning, and category promotions.

* Identify improvements in content formats, pricing, and feature offerings to remain competitive.

* Track and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics and implement corrective actions promptly.

* Work with content, product, tech, and support teams to improve the overall user experience.

* Suggest data-backed improvements for product features, batch models, landing pages, and course experience.


Requirements


* 2 to 5 years of experience in category management, business development, partnerships, or academic operations.

* Strong understanding of category dynamics, growth levers, and revenue-oriented decision-making.

* Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interpret data and convert insights into actions.

* High ownership, a process-oriented mindset, and the ability to operate independently.

* Excellent communication and people management skills.

* Experience in EdTech or competitive exam preparation is preferred.
