Business Development Manager – Techno-Commercial Sales

We're now expanding our footprint and seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Business Development Manager to lead sales efforts in the Pune region.
Role Overview
The Business Development Manager (Techno-Commercial Sales) will be responsible for driving sales and business growth in the Pune region by engaging with architects, builders, contractors, and developers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the building material sales industry and a clear understanding of the end-to-end sales pipeline—from lead generation to closing.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and develop business opportunities for doors, frames, and allied solutions.
- Target key stakeholders such as architects, PMC consultants, interior designers, builders, contractors, and project developers.
- Conduct field visits, site inspections, and detailed client meetings to understand needs and offer tailored solutions.
- Build and nurture a strong client base in the assigned territory, especially in Pune and occasionally Mumbai.
Sales Pipeline Management
- Manage the complete sales lifecycle—from lead generation to order finalization.
- Maintain and monitor a healthy sales pipeline with consistent follow-ups and conversion strategies.
- Use CRM tools to track client interactions, proposal stages, and conversion metrics.
Technical Consultation
- Provide product-specific guidance and explain the technical specifications, usage, and installation methods of our products.
- Collaborate with internal technical/design teams to deliver custom solutions that meet project demands.
Commercial Negotiation & Closure
-Prepare quotations, proposals, and tender documentation.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules while maintaining desired profit margins.
- Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets as defined by the management.
Client Relationship Management
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through consistent communication and support.
- Resolve client issues promptly and ensure long-term business relationships.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitor activity, product trends, and customer feedback.
- Provide actionable insights to management to refine strategy and product offerings.
Preferred Industry Background
-Must have experience in building material sales.
- Preferably from industries such as: Doors & Windows, Blocks & Bricks, Cement, Tiles & Flooring, Waterproofing & Construction Chemicals, Wood Panels & Interior Materials.
Key Requirements
Education
-Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration / Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).
-MBA in Marketing / Construction Management (preferably from NICMAR).
Experience
- 4+ years of experience in techno-commercial sales in the building materials or construction sector.
- Candidates with lesser experience or freshers with exceptional technical and sales aptitude may also be considered.
Skills
- Deep knowledge of the sales cycle and pipeline management in B2B construction/real estate sectors.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
-Technically sound with the ability to present product USPs convincingly.
- Comfortable working independently and traveling extensively within the assigned region.
-Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and CRM platforms.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: ₹35,000 – ₹65,000 per month (based on experience & skill level).
