Skill: Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP Technical Architect Experience: 16–20+ years Summary: As the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP Technical Architect, you will lead the architecture and delivery of next-generation, AI-enabled Dynamics 365 solutions. This role goes beyond traditional ERP technical consulting, you will drive AI adoption across D365 implementations by orchestrating Copilot extensibility, GenAI solution architectures, MLOps pipelines, and integration of AI into business processes. You will influence technology strategy, shape reusable accelerators and frameworks, mentor senior architects/teams, and represent the organization in high-visibility client conversations. You will operate as one of the highest technical authorities within the D365 AI technical competency. ________________________________________ Roles & Responsibilities Strategic / Leadership Responsibilities: • Act as the technical thought leader for D365 technical architecture and AI enablement. • Define & drive the AI solution strategy for D365 implementations, including Copilot, generative AI, automation patterns, and data platforms. • Provide architectural governance across multiple delivery engagements; ensure design consistency, scalability, performance, and security. • Serve as the "go-to leader" representing the organization in presales pursuits, client orals, solution reviews, and executive discussions. • Build accelerators, reusable components, code templates, and internal IP to improve developer productivity and quality. • Drive thought leadership by contributing to white papers, customer solution demos, workshops, and innovation forums Technical Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and customize D365 F&O using X++, Extensions, Data Entities, and Integrations. • Individual contributor in hands-on technical development, building complex solutions in Dynamics 365 F&O • Engage directly with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements, showcase solutions, and resolve technical challenges. • Quickly learn and apply cutting-edge AI technologies to drive innovation and enhance delivery effectiveness • Architect, design, and guide complex customizations including: o D365 ERP technical extensions (X++, Plugins, Azure integrations, Dataverse). o Integration patterns using Azure Integration Services (Azure Functions, APIM, Service Bus, Logic Apps). o Event-driven architecture using Business Events & APIs. • Lead AI-driven solution initiatives including: o Designing Copilot plug-ins for Finance & Operations and Power Platform. o Building GenAI automation using Azure OpenAI / GPT models. o Designing and optimizing prompt engineering and grounding approaches using enterprise data. o Implementing AI-based business rules & recommendation engines. o Establishing MLOps pipeline for lifecycle management (Dev QA Prod). • Define and enforce DevOps standards using Azure DevOps (CI/CD, branching strategy, automated builds & deployments). • Conduct design reviews, code reviews, performance tuning, and technical mentoring. People & Practice Responsibilities: • Mentor managers/architects; build talent depth in D365 + AI capability. • Publish thought leadership content, drive internal knowledge forums, and lead community of practice. ________________________________________ Professional & Technical Skills Must-Have Technical Skills • 16+ years overall experience, with 12+ years in D365 ERP Technical and 3+ years in AI & Azure services. • Deep experience in D365 Finance & Operations technical stack including: o X++, OData, Custom APIs, Extensions, Batch framework, Dual-write, Dataverse. • Expert in Azure architecture for ERP modernization: o Azure Functions, Logic Apps, APIM, Service Bus, Event Grid, Key Vault. • Demonstrated experience in building Copilot-like or AI-powered solutions using: o Azure AI Studio / Copilot Studio o Azure OpenAI (GPT, embeddings, RAG) o Cognitive Services (OCR, Form Recognizer, Speech) o Leverage MCP to create and extend agents for Microsoft Dynamics 365 finance and operations apps. • Strong understanding of Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse). • Experience in CI/CD and DevOps using Azure DevOps pipelines. Preferred Skills • Experience using AI to optimize ERP functions (automating journal entries, predictive inventory optimization, anomaly detection, etc.). • Experience with cloud security, role-based access control, and API authentication (OAuth, Managed Identity). • Exposure to data engineering (Synapse, Fabric, ADLS).
