About the Role

The Business Analyst (BA) is a critical delivery role responsible for defining, documenting, validating, and managing all business and functional requirements across the Company ecosystem — Academy internal systems, Digital Agency client projects, and Company Labs start-up MVPs. This role ensures every feature built by Engineering (Front-End, Back-End, UX, QA, PM) is traceable, testable, aligned with stakeholder expectations, and mapped to clear business value. You will translate ideas → requirements → user stories → acceptance criteria → test alignment →

release documentation using enterprise SDLC standards.

This is a pure delivery analysis and documentation role, not a teaching or coding position.

Key Responsibilities

1. Requirement Elicitation & Discovery

• Conduct structured requirement-gathering sessions with stakeholders (internal teams, clients, founders).

Apply elicitation techniques:

o Interviews

o Workshops

o Document analysis

o User observation

o Surveys & Q/A sessions

• Clarify business objectives, success metrics, dependencies, risks, and operational constraints.

2. Documentation Excellence (BRD · FRS · User Stories · Acceptance Criteria)

• Prepare BRD (Business Requirements Document) with:

o Problem definition

o Goals & KPIs

o Scope & exclusions

o High-level workflows

• Prepare FRS / Functional Specs covering:

o Detailed feature behaviour

o Field-level specifications

o Validation rules

o Error states & messages

o System constraints

• Write clear, test-ready User Stories & Acceptance Criteria using Gherkin:

o Given / When / Then

• Maintain up-to-date documentation in ClickUp / Confluence / Google Workspace.

3. Process Mapping & Diagramming

• Create visual documentation using:

o UML Diagrams (use case, sequence, activity)

o BPMN process flows

o Data-flow diagrams (DFD Level 0–2)

o Wireframe annotations for UX alignment

• Use tools such as:

o Lucidchart

o Draw.io

o Figma (for annotated flows)

4. SDLC & Agile Collaboration

• Work closely with PM to refine backlog, story pointing, and sprint readiness.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies:

o Stand-ups

o Planning

o Sprint reviews

o Retrospectives

• Ensure end-to-end traceability (BRD → FRS → User Stories → QA Test Cases → Deployment).
• Support QA with scenario coverage and requirement clarification.

5. Stakeholder Communication & Alignment

• Serve as the liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Present requirement summaries, architecture overviews, or UX flows.
• Provide weekly updates on requirement status, scope changes, and risks.
• Align solutions with UK/EU communication standards where required.

6. Quality, Validation & UAT Support

• Validate requirement implementation against acceptance criteria.
• Support QA during functional, integration, and UAT cycles.
• Help prepare UAT scripts and coordinate stakeholder testing.
• Manage change requests with impact analysis.

7. Data, Analytics & Business Insight Awareness

• Basic understanding of:

o GA4

o Looker Studio dashboards

o CRM funnels (HubSpot/Freshworks)

• Translate analytics insights into requirement adjustments or new feature proposals.

• QA process, defect lifecycle, test-case alignment
• UX/UI concepts for handoff and developer clarity

Profile Requirements

• 5–10+ years as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, or Product Analyst.
• Strong experience in requirements documentation and SDLC alignment.
• Excellent communication, listening, summarisation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to simplify complex concepts for multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills.
• Experience in Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban).
