We are looking for an experienced BESS Design Engineer with a background in electrical engineering to support the design and engineering of battery energy storage systems. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in designing and sizing BESS systems, creating Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), and working with battery and inverter technologies for residential, commercial & industrial (C&I), and utility-scale applications.
• Perform battery sizing and capacity estimation based on project requirements (residential, C&I, utility).
• Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), load flow studies, and power system schematics.
• Select appropriate batteries, inverters, and system components (battery modules, racks, PCS, transformers).
• Understand technical specifications for lithium-ion batteries, energy density, DOD, SOC, IR, and other performance parameters.
• Prepare technical documentation for BESS systems, including design reports, layouts, SOPs, RFP, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and Specification.
• Analyse battery degradation and lifecycle to assist in project lifecycle planning.
• Engage with vendors for component sourcing, pricing, and ensuring compliance with design standards.
• Review vendor documentation to match project requirements and integration needs.
• Ensure that all designs comply with international standards and local regulations (e.g., IEEE, IEC, UL).
• Stay updated on industry standards related to energy storage, grid integration, and electrical safety.
• Collaborate with project teams for the implementation of BESS solutions, providing engineering support throughout the project lifecycle
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in designing BESS systems.
• Strong knowledge of lithium-ion battery technologies and power conversion systems (PCS).
• Experience in creating Single Line Diagrams (SLD), electrical layouts, and system schematics.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, UL).
• Familiarity with industry-standard software for electrical design (e.g., ETAP, AutoCAD, Homer or similar).
• Understanding of energy storage applications in residential, C&I, and utility segments.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work with interdisciplinary teams.in data analysis, preferably in the energy or utilities sector
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ideas and run with them from concept to conclusion.
• Technical understanding of clean energy business processes
• Exceptional verbal and writing communication skills with superiors, peers, partners, and other stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal skills while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
