Position SummaryAs a Lead Mechanical Engineer at CIR, you will design mechanical piping and equipment for LNG and power plants, perform engineering analysis, develop P&IDs, and prepare equipment specifications. You will ensure compliance with industry standards, lead design teams, and mentor junior staff. Your role will also involve preparing construction scopes, reviewing design deliverables, and optimizing system performance. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key to delivering efficient and reliable solutions. Core ResponsibilitiesDesign: Mechanical piping and equipment for LNG and power generation facilitiesPerform: Engineering designs including analysis, calculations, research, and equipment selectionDevelop: P&IDs for LNG and power plant systems including steam cycles, boiler feed, condensate, water treatment, fuel gas, hydrogen, and utilitiesPrepare: Sizing calculations and specifications for major equipment including, but not limited to, heat recovery steam generators, condensers, cooling towers, tanks, blowers, and pumpsPrepare: Construction/installation scopes of work for mechanical systems.Check: Design deliverables by industry codes and standards, contract requirements, and company standardsLead: Teams of engineers, designers, and draftersMentor: Technical mentoring and/or oversight of junior staff Education RequirementsBachelors/master’s in mechanical engineering or related field Technical Skills and ExperienceSoftware Proficiency:MS OfficeWorking knowledge of MicroStation and/or Auto CADWorking knowledge of 3D design softwareExperience using Caesar II or AutoPipeExperience using Thermoflow Project Management:Experience in managing design projects from conception to implementationAbility to coordinate with other engineers and stakeholdersExperience7-12 years of relevant experience in Power Generation, LNG and Industrial facilities. (Consultancy experience is highly preferred).Professional Engineering registration in at least one US State preferred Psychosocial Skills /Human Skills/Behavioural SkillsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Project Management experience a plus. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ideas and run with them from concept to conclusion.Technical understanding of clean energy business processesExceptional verbal and writing communication skills with superiors, peers, partners, and other stakeholders.Excellent interpersonal skills while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.Excellence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
