Job Description

  • Purpose of the Role
The role is responsible for driving sales and business growth for the transformer product line by identifying new business opportunities, managing existing customer accounts, and ensuring effective execution of the sales cycle. The candidate will build strong customer relationships, achieve sales targets, and provide technical & commercial support to clients while coordinating closely with engineering, production, and service teams.
  • Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Generate new leads and develop business for transformer products.
  • Manage end-to-end sales cycles, including proposals, quotations, technical discussions, and negotiations.
  • Achieve revenue targets for new and existing products.
  • Conduct market research to identify target customers, product opportunities, and industry trends.
  • Analyze competitor activities and contribute to marketing strategies.

Client Management & Field Activities

  • Regular visits to Power Transmission/Distribution utilities and other power sector customers.
  • Understand upcoming requirements of transformers and propose solutions.
  • Conduct technical presentations for customers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through timely service and communication.

Technical & Commercial Support

  • Support pre-tender and post-tender activities through contract review meetings.
  • Provide technical clarifications, drawing approvals, and closure.
  • Prepare MIS reports, periodic cash estimation, and sales documentation.

Internal Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with engineering, production, quality, and service teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Work with principals/manufacturers for new orders, dispatch, and technical support.
  • Required Skills & Knowledge

Technical Skills

  • Strong technical knowledge of transformer products.
  • Experience in proposal preparation, cost estimation, and techno-commercial discussions.
  • Ability to deliver technical presentations effectively.
  • Market research skills for identifying product and market opportunities.

Functional Skills

  • Lead generation and pipeline management.
  • Competitor analysis and industry trend identification.
  • Client management and negotiation skills.
  • Documentation, MIS, and sales reporting.
