Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Mechanical HOD who can lead the entire mechanical division including Design, Purchase, Production, Factory Operations, and Customer Engineering Support.
The ideal candidate must have strong technical expertise in SPM design, machine building, team leadership, customer interaction, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities (R&R)

1. Department Leadership

• Lead and manage teams of Design Engineers, Purchase Executives, Production Supervisors, and Fitter Teams.
• Assign daily/weekly tasks, monitor progress, and ensure smooth workflow between all departments.
• Conduct regular review meetings with design, purchase, and production teams.

2. Mechanical Design & Engineering

• Guide the design team for SPM concepts, mechanisms, and machine layouts.
• Review 2D/3D designs, BOQ, costing, and feasibility of projects.
• Ensure designs meet customer specifications, safety norms, and industrial standards.
• Approve final drawings before manufacturing.

3. Production & Factory Management

• Plan and schedule machine manufacturing activities as per project deadlines.
• Ensure production quality, assembly accuracy, and proper documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors and in-house teams to maintain smooth factory operations.
• Oversee machine trials, testing, and final run-off before dispatch.

4. Purchase & Vendor Development

• Approve BOM and ensure timely procurement of mechanical, electrical, and automation components.
• Identify and develop reliable suppliers for machined parts, standard components, and fabrication work.
• Monitor purchase costs, negotiation, and inventory planning.

5. Customer Interaction & Project Execution

• Attend customer meetings for technical discussion, concept presentation, and project approvals.
• Visit customer sites for installation, issue resolution, and understanding new requirements.
• Provide technical support to the sales team for quotation and project planning.
• Ensure timely communication with customers throughout the project cycle.

6. Quality, Delivery & Process Improvement

• Ensure machines are delivered within timeline, quality standards, and budget.
• Implement continuous process improvements in design, manufacturing, and documentation.
• Standardize machine components, assembly practices, and design templates.

7. Team Development & Reporting

• Train junior engineers, groom future team leaders, and improve departmental capabilities.
• Prepare MIS reports, project status updates, and performance evaluations.
• Report directly to Director / MD on project progress and departmental performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5–15 years in SPM design, automation, machine building, or industrial equipment manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, motion mechanisms, pneumatics, hydraulics, and automation elements
• Expertise in CAD tools (SolidWorks/Inventor/AutoCAD)
• Strong leadership, decision-making, planning, and communication skills
• Ability to handle pressure and manage multi-department teams
• Willingness for customer visits and on-site machine trials

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹750,000.00 per year
