USI Assistant Manager, Finance Business Partner

The team and the role
The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization supports our business, market and enabling area leaders by providing world class financial support. FP&A is made up of advisors who are influential in decision-making and partner with finance leaders to drive meaningful strategic and financial outcomes.Within FP&A, the FBP organization works with business leaders to translate strategy into actionable plans, leverage in-depth analysis to provide the story behind the numbers and respond to business changes with agility. The FBP USI Assistant Manager role supports the planning & forecasting platform at Deloitte, and specific responsibilities and qualifications for this role are outlined below.
Work you’ll do
Core Responsibilities
- Accountable for the technical implementation, ongoing operation and maintenance of the Firm’s Planning & Forecasting platform in Anaplan
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert for the Planning and Forecasting system
- Execute the development and implementation of complex enhancements
- Efficiently troubleshoot and resolve defects within Anaplan, providing regular status updates through both verbal and written communication to Finance Business Partners
- Transform data into useful information on the platform through storyboarding and data visualization
- Translate conceptual insights into user interface enhancements that enable leaders to make informed decisions
- Provide recommendations and design solutions for defects and enhancements in Anaplan
- Execute periodic production runs and validate results
- Manage end user access based on role-based security
- Perform general model maintenance and maintain supporting documentation of model design
- Develop and follow sprint cycles, create test scripts for user acceptance testing, and assist end users during UAT
- Estimate the level of effort to design, develop and implement defects and enhancements
- Collaborate across various teams and stakeholders to drive systemic solutions and sustainable impact across the platform
- Understand and provide expertise regarding the platform framework for each Business, design methodology and calculations
Other Responsibilities
- Develop project plans and timelines, track progress through milestones and metrics, and collaborate cross-functionally with firm leadership, Business leadership, FP&A teams (e.g., Finance Business Partners), and additional teams (e.g., internal Consulting team, Finance Transformation)
- Demonstrates accountability, both individually and with others, by ensuring project objectives are successfully accomplished
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to effectively convey technical terminology in terms that are understandable and clear to end users
- Demonstrated ability to excel in a dynamic environment that requires critical thinking and strong analytical abilities
- Effectively manages oneself and team members to provide exceptional client service by demonstrating urgency, accountability, and integrity
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, business analytics, computer science, economics, or another technical discipline
- Minimum of 4-6+ years of relevant experience working in Finance or IT
- Anaplan Certified Model Builder (Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3)
- Ability to build modules, lists, numbered lists, models, functions, dashboards, views, formatting, calculations, actions, processes, dependent dropdowns, user access, resolve data issues, formula issues, and optimization in Anaplan
Preferred:
- Certified Anaplan Solution Architect
- Advanced education degree a plus
- Experience in a professional services firm is a plus
- Work with senior leadership
- Foundational knowledge of financial systems (SAP, Anaplan)
