Job Description

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive

Assistant Manager – Components

to support the procurement, sourcing, and management of all critical components and materials required for solar EPC projects. This role ensures timely and quality supply of modules, inverters, mounting structures, cables and other Balance‑Of‑System (BOS) items, and coordinates with design, procurement, logistics, and project execution teams to ensure smooth project implementation.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Component Procurement & Sourcing Support
Assist in sourcing of key solar EPC components: solar modules, inverters, mounting structures, cables, BOS items, HT/LT switchgear, civil‑electrical interface materials, and other required equipment.
Work with procurement/ SCM team to prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQs), evaluate vendor offers, obtain competitive pricing and ensure vendor technical compliance with project specifications.Maintain a vetted list of approved vendors/suppliers for various components, ensuring quality, reliability, timely delivery, and backup sources where required.
  • Material & Component Planning, Forecasting & Inventory Coordination
Coordinate with Project / Design / Engineering / Procurement teams to forecast component and material requirements based on project schedule, design deliverables, and site execution plan.
Help maintain and track inventory or material demand‑supply plan for upcoming projects to avoid delays due to component unavailability.Monitor delivery timelines, dispatch schedules and follow‑up with vendors to ensure components arrive at site as per project timeline.
  • Vendor & Supplier Management
Liaise with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors for technical clarifications, contract compliance, documentation and quality assurance for supplied components.
Evaluate vendor performance — delivery timelines, quality consistency, warranty/guarantee documentation, post‑supply support — and maintain vendor scorecards or performance logs.Coordinate with procurement, design and quality teams to inspect and approve incoming material/equipment before release for dispatch or site installation.
  • Coordination with Design, Engineering & Project Teams
Work closely with design/engineering and project execution teams to ensure components and materials meet technical specifications, project design requirements and are compatible with overall plant scope (mechanical, civil, electrical).
Support preparation of Bill of Materials (BOM) / Bill of Quantities (BOQ) during project planning/design phase based on design inputs.Help manage documentation related to components — datasheets, tech specs, order confirmations, quality certificates, dispatch and delivery records.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure all procured components meet project standards, quality certifications, and comply with regulatory or grid‑code requirements as applicable.
Facilitate vendor audits, material inspections, and testing (if required) to verify quality and conformity before dispatch or installation.Coordinate with quality control / inspection teams to report non‑conformities and follow through corrective actions with vendors or suppliers.
  • Cost Control & Budget Support
Support cost optimization efforts by comparing vendor offers, negotiating terms, monitoring component costs, and ensuring procurement stays within project budget constraints.
Help maintain cost records for components, track budget vs actual, identify risks or cost overruns, and raise alerts to management if needed.
  • Logistics & Supply‑Chain Coordination
Work with logistics / store / dispatch teams to ensure timely movement of components from supplier to storage to site, coordinate transport/shipping, customs/clearance (if applicable), warehousing, and delivery scheduling.Maintain records of component receipts, dispatch logs, inventory ledgers, and assist in reconciliation and inventory audits.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

B.E./B.Tech (Preferably in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Industrial / Civil Engineering) or Diploma in a relevant discipline. A degree in Supply Chain / Materials Management is a plus.

Skills:

Strong coordination and communication skills; vendor negotiation; ability to manage multiple stakeholders (design, procurement, logistics, project teams); good record‑keeping; planning and forecasting; attention to detail; ability to follow up and track deliveries strictly.
