Job Description

Assistant Business Development Manager


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for prospective clients and sponsors for Clinical Trials (CTs) and Bioavailability/Bioequivalence (BA/BE) studies.
  • Understand client requirements for CTs and BA/BE studies and provide accurate information about our service capabilities.
  • Prepare detailed budgets for clinical trials, BA/BE studies, and other bio-analytical studies based on study protocols, timelines, and resource estimations.
  • Draft and customize clinical trial and BA/BE study proposals tailored to client needs.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (clinical operations, regulatory affairs, bio-analytical, medical writing, finance) to gather necessary inputs for budgeting and proposal development.
  • Follow up with leads through phone, email, and virtual meetings to nurture opportunities.
  • Maintain and update the CRM system with client interactions, proposals, and follow-ups.
  • Support the preparation of RFP (Request for Proposal) responses and tenders.
  • Assist in the negotiation of contracts by providing technical and financial inputs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscape relevant to CTs and BA/BE studies.
  • Generate periodic reports on business development activities, pipeline status, and proposal outcomes.


Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in business development, preferably in clinical research, CRO, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial and BA/BE study processes, protocols, and regulatory requirements (CDSCO, DCGI, etc.).
  • Proven experience in preparing budgets and proposals for both Clinical Trials (Phases I–III) and BA/BE studies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical skills with close attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Good negotiation and customer service skills.


Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in global clinical trials and regulatory submissions.
  • Familiarity with budgeting tools and project management software.
  • Prior experience in inside sales, lead generation, and contract negotiations for BA/BE and clinical trial studies.
