Job Description

The Assistant Manager – Accounts is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations of the resort, including accounting, billing, statutory compliance, vendor payments, audits, and financial reporting. The role requires strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

A. Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Handle daily accounting entries including receipts, payments, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Manage Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Prepare and verify vendor bills, purchase orders, GRNs, and ensure timely payments.
  • Reconcile guest folios, restaurant bills, and room revenue with PMS and POS systems.

B. Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare daily revenue reports, expense summaries, and monthly MIS.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Support management with financial insights and cost-control measures.

C. Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure timely filing of GST returns, TDS, and other statutory payments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for statutory audits and internal audits.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, hotel finance SOPs, and legal requirements.

D. Cash & Inventory Controls

  • Monitor cash handling at the front desk, restaurants, and activity centers.
  • Conduct periodic physical verification of inventory (F&B, housekeeping, stores).
  • Support implementation of cost control, wastage monitoring, and procurement discipline.

E. Coordination & Administration

  • Coordinate with departments (Front Office, F&B, Stores, HR) for smooth financial workflow.
  • Liaise with external auditors, banks, vendors, and government authorities.
  • Maintain organized records, ledgers, vouchers, and financial documents.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance (B.Com or equivalent).
  • 3–6 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or service industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and Indian accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in Tally, MS Excel, and hotel PMS/POS software.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and analytical skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a luxury resort or hotel finance department.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting, inventory control, and hospitality revenue management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
