Preferred Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field. Experience: Minimum 10-12 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role. Prior experience in an academic or large, complex organizational setting preferred. Role Summary: Human Resources supports the strategic and operational leadership of the HR department. Working closely with the Director of HR, this role is responsible for the effective implementation of HR policies, employee relations, performance management, recruitment, professional development, and compliance functions. The Assistant Director ensures the delivery of high-quality HR services to academic and administrative staff across the university. Roles & Responsibilities: Oversee the recruitment life cycle and compliance in hiring practices. Ensure best practices in onboarding, orientation, and integration of new hires. Support performance appraisal processes, including training for evaluators and data tracking. Collaborate with the HR Director to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with university goals. Provide data-driven insights and reports to support workforce planning and organizational development. Facilitate the disciplinary process in alignment with university policies and legal standards. Ensure HR practices comply with labor laws, accreditation standards, and internal policies. Maintain up-to-date HR manuals and assist in developing new or revised HR policies. Monitor and audit personnel files and processes for accuracy and compliance. Support compensation and benefits administration, including annual salary reviews and leave management. Respond to inquiries about benefits, payroll, and university HR policies. Optimize HR systems (e.g., HRIS, ATS) to improve service delivery and reporting. Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all the staffs. Ensure alignment of payroll practices with university HR policies. Resolve payroll-related queries from employees. Ensure adherence to statutory requirements like PF, Income Tax, and professional tax. Handle payroll audits and prepare necessary reports.
