Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support the preparation of financial statements, manage account reconciliations, and assist with regulatory reporting. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in various accounting disciplines, including corporate, governmental, and non-profit sectors, while working within a collaborative environment that values accuracy and integrity. The Assistant Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining compliance with GAAP and other financial regulations, utilizing advanced accounting software tools to ensure precise financial management.

Duties

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Perform account reconciliations such as bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes with attention to detail and timeliness.
  • Assist in journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and accrual accounting procedures.
  • Support regulatory reporting requirements in accordance with SOX, Securities law, and other compliance standards.
  • Conduct financial analysis to interpret financial statements and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Maintain accurate records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
  • Assist with internal audits and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Support tax preparation activities with experience in tax laws related to non-profit or corporate entities.
  • Collaborate with team members on financial management projects and mentoring junior staff when applicable.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP standards and best practices for financial report writing and interpretation.

Experience

  • Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting environments.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger accounting.
  • Experience working with various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance, LIHTC regulations, governmental accounting standards, non-profit accounting practices, and securities law is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of technical accounting principles including GAAP, accrual accounting, and financial statement preparation.
  • Ability to perform detailed financial analysis, cash flow analysis, budget forecasting, and regulatory reporting.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to mentor junior team members when needed.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and report generation. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
