Job Overview:

General Trade (GT)

Key Responsibilities:

1. General Trade (GT) Sales:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key distributors, wholesalers, and retailers in the Gujarat & MP region.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for General Trade accounts.
  • Identify and onboard new retailers and distributors to expand market reach in Pune.
  • Ensure optimal stock levels with retailers and manage supply chain issues to avoid stockouts.
  • Work with distributors to ensure that products are displayed according to company standards and in key retail locations.

2. Modern Trade (MT) Sales:

  • Build relationships with key modern trade accounts such as large retail chains, supermarkets, hypermarkets, and e-commerce platforms in Gujarat & MP.
  • Negotiate terms, promotional offers, and pricing with modern trade partners.
  • Drive sales through modern trade channels by executing promotions, seasonal campaigns, and new product launches.
  • Ensure the execution of promotional campaigns and track their effectiveness in the MT segment.
  • Gather and provide insights regarding market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities in both GT and MT segments.


3. Reporting and Documentation:

  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to management.
  • Assist in forecasting sales for both GT and MT channels in the Gujarat & MP region.
  • Monitor competitors’ activities, prices, and promotional strategies in both GT and MT segments.


Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (5 years) as a Sales Executive in General Trade and Modern Trade channels, preferably in the FMCG, retail, or consumer goods industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Pune market, with an understanding of both General Trade and Modern Trade dynamics.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with distributors, retailers, and MT chains.
  • Strong negotiation, closing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to make informed decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically to overcome challenges in both sales channels.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Preferred:

    MBA in Sales & Marketing or relevant certification (optional).
