Position Summary
Level: Manager
As a Manager at Deloitte Consulting, you will oversee the technical delivery of enterprise-scale software solutions, lead cross-functional and global teams and mentor junior members. You will collaborate to understand functional requirements, support sales and proposal efforts, and drive end-to-end project delivery, including estimation and planning, to ensure successful outcomes.
Work You’ll Do
As the App Store Architect/Engineering Manager, you will own the end-to-end technical vision and leadership for Deloitte’s enterprise app store. You’ll collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, engineering, security, and DevOps teams to define, design, and deliver a scalable, secure, and high-performing platform. You’ll set technical standards, mentor engineers, and ensure alignment with Deloitte’s enterprise architecture and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for the enterprise app store platform, aligning with business and stakeholder needs.
- Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient backend services, APIs, and user interfaces, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Establish and enforce technical standards, best practices, clean code practices, and security guidelines.
- Choose appropriate tools, frameworks, and technologies aligned with project goals.
- Review and approve technical designs, code, and architectural decisions.
- Oversee integration with authentication, authorization, billing, analytics, and third-party systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cross-functional engineering teams, promoting best practices, holding knowledge-sharing sessions, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Help assess team performance from a technical perspective and provide input during reviews.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Designers, Software Engineers, QA, and DevOps teams to align technical execution with business needs.
- Lead agile ceremonies, including technical discussions, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical blockers and architectural conflicts, guiding developers toward solutions.
- Define and enforce unit, integration, and system testing practices.
- Work with DevOps to ensure smooth CI/CD pipelines, deployment practices, and define monitoring, logging, and alerting for production systems.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of architecture, APIs, workflows, and operational processes.
The team
Application Common Services (ACS) is a firmwide initiative focused on creating reusable, scalable services and frameworks such as RBAC, App Store, and Data Fabric. By centralizing the development and governance of these services, ACS enables Deloitte’s asset teams to reduce duplicative effort, accelerate time-to-market, and deliver consistent, secure, and high-performing applications.
Qualifications
Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in an architecture or technical leadership role.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing large-scale, cloud-native digital platforms or marketplaces.
- Strong experience with backend development (e.g., Node.js, Python) and RESTful API architecture.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and cloud-native security practices.
- Experience with authentication/authorization protocols, identity management, and secure application design.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams across multiple disciplines.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic problem-solving skills.
Good to Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with enterprise app stores, SaaS marketplaces, or digital commerce platforms.
- Familiarity with microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps practices.
- Certifications in cloud architecture, security, or enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Background in analytics, billing, or integration with third-party services.
Education:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (3 Year) within a technical field.
