Job Description

As an Analyst in the Projects CoE at Barclays, your role involves supporting the end-to-end journey for Internally Generated Software (IGS) capitalization in collaboration with FBPs, Business Managers, and Central reporting functions. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing and implementing business unit financial strategies, plans, and budgets. - Utilizing financial insights to assess the financial implications of strategic initiatives and recommend appropriate actions. - Creating financial models to forecast performance, assess investment opportunities, and analyze financial risks. - Collaborating cross-functionally to provide financial insights and guidance to business unit stakeholders. - Identifying and implementing financial process improvements. - Supporting business units in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks. - Analyzing and presenting financial data to provide insights into business performance and support decision-making. To excel in this role, you should have: - A Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills. - Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication abilities. - Understanding of Barclays processes. - Hands-on relevant experience as an Accountant. - Experience in fixed asset accounting or general accounting roles. - Experience in a shared services or corporate accounting environment is advantageous. Additionally, highly valued skills may include: - CA/CS/CWA/MBA/Post-graduate qualifications. - Evidence of understanding Project Accounting and the requirements around the capitalization of Internally Generated Software. As an Analyst at Barclays, you are expected to: - Perform prescribed activities in a timely and high-standard manner, driving continuous improvement. - Possess in-depth technical knowledge and experience in your area of expertise. - Lead and supervise a team, guiding professional development and allocating work requirements. - Take ownership of managing risk and strengthening controls within your work. - Demonstrate understanding of how your sub-function integrates with the organization. - Act as a contact point for stakeholders and build a network of external contacts.
