Job Purpose: To provide expert agronomic advice to farmers, sales teams, and partners, ensuring optimal crop productivity and promoting the effective use of company products and services. The Agronomist acts as a technical bridge between R&D, sales, and the farming community. Key Responsibilities: Field Advisory & Farmer Engagement: Conduct regular field visits to assess crop health, soil conditions, and recommend corrective actions. Advise farmers on best practices related to crop planning, soil management, irrigation, pest and disease control, and fertilizer application. Organize field days, demonstrations, and farmer meetings to showcase product efficacy and good agronomic practices. Technical Support: Provide on-ground support to the sales and marketing teams by offering technical solutions. Data Collection & Analysis: Monitor and record crop development, soil test results, climatic factors, and pest/disease incidences. Prepare field reports and recommend tailored agronomic interventions based on data. Farmer Feedback & Product Improvement: Capture farmer feedback on product performance and agronomic practices. Report insights to the product development and marketing teams for continual improvement. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines while recommending crop inputs. Maintain thorough documentation of trials, demos, farmer engagements, and impact assessments. Key Requirements: Education: B.Sc./M.Sc. in Agriculture/Agronomy/Soil Science/Plant Protection. Experience: 1–7 years of field-level agronomic experience. Freshers with strong academic background may also be considered. Technical Skills: Knowledge of regional cropping systems, pest/disease management, and soil health. Familiarity with agri-input products (fertilizers, pesticides, bio-products). Soft Skills: Strong communication, farmer connect, presentation, and training capabilities. Languages: Proficiency in local language and working knowledge of English. Mobility: Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory, ability to cover a minimum of 100 acres each month. Reporting: Daily & Weekly, Monthly Report Submission and Responsible for the monthly Target. Preferred Attributes: Experience in precision agriculture, agri-tech platforms, or digital advisory tools. Exposure to sustainable farming practices, IPM, INM, or organic farming. Analytical mindset and ability to interpret agronomic data.
