Job description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with a background in manufacturing to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in overseeing financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial guidance to the organization. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in manufacturing accounting practices, strong leadership skills, and a track record of delivering accurate and timely financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Coordinate and lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis and recommendations for cost-saving measures.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported in a timely manner.
• Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, and provide insights to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
• Conduct regular financial audits to identify discrepancies, errors, or potential risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and sales, to support business initiatives and strategic decision-making.
• Stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes affecting the manufacturing sector, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Mentor and develop junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed to enhance their skills and performance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• 10-15 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a focus on manufacturing accounting principles and practices.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
• Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing a team of accounting professionals.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
