Account Manager – Talent, Cadet & Staff Development (Sea & Shore) - Seaborne Ship Management ( Incubated Centre of School of Maritime Studies, Centurion University)

Overview

Account Manager – Talent, Cadet & Staff Development (Sea & Shore)

cadet induction, staff training, documentation compliance, and readiness for shipboard or shore-based assignments

maritime operations, HR/training coordination

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Assessment (Cadets and Staff)

  • Oversee the recruitment process for both

    cadets and shore-based staff

    .
  • Screen and evaluate CVs for qualifications, certifications, and suitability.
  • Coordinate interviews and assessments with technical/marine departments.
  • Maintain a structured database of candidates, tracking progress and deployment readiness.

2. Training & Continuous Development Programs

  • Design and manage

    continuous development programs

    for both cadets and staff, focusing on skill enhancement, safety, and compliance.
  • Coordinate

    pre-sea, post-sea, STCW, simulator, and soft skills training

    with recognized institutions.
  • Liaise with training academies, DG Shipping-approved centers, and international partners.
  • Monitor attendance, course completion, and certification validity.
  • Introduce refresher courses, leadership programs, and workshops for career progression.

3. Documentation & Medical Compliance

  • Supervise document verification and record maintenance for all cadets and staff (passport, CDC, STCW, CoC, medicals, etc.).
  • Ensure adherence to

    DG Shipping, MLC 2006

    , and

    flag-state regulations

    .
  • Coordinate medical examinations with approved doctors and global medical centres.
  • Manage visas, vaccinations, and travel documentation for both Indian and international participants.
  • Proactively monitor document expiries and initiate renewal processes.

4. Readiness for Ship Joining & Deployment

  • Ensure that all personnel are

    document-ready, medically fit, and compliant

    before joining vessels or assignments.
  • Coordinate logistics, ticketing, and embarkation in collaboration with

    shipping lines, manning offices, and port authorities.

  • Communicate pre-joining instructions, documentation checklists, and travel details clearly.
  • Resolve last-minute travel or documentation issues efficiently.

5. Client, Partner & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Act as the single point of contact for

    shipping companies, ports, academies, and HR partners.

  • Build strong relationships with clients and global training collaborators.
  • Report on recruitment, documentation, and training performance to management.
  • Represent the organization in seminars, campus drives, and maritime development programs.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

    in

    Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience in shipping companies, ports, or maritime training organizations

    is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of

    DG Shipping, MLC 2006, and STCW documentation processes.

  • Proven track record in

    training coordination, cadet management, or HR operations.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and

    crew management software

    (COMPAS, Danaos, etc.).
  • Capable of multitasking and working under tight timelines.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice

    domestically and internationally.

  • 90 % of cadets and staff fully compliant and ready for joining.
  • Successful completion rate of training and continuous development programs.
  • On-time renewal of documents and certifications.
  • Client and trainee satisfaction scores.
