Accounts Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

• Record daily financial transactions, including journal entries, receipts, payments, and adjustments, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date ledgers.
• Assist in preparing, reconciling, and maintaining financial statements and records as per accounting standards and internal policies.
• Support GST-related tasks, including preparing and filing monthly and quarterly returns, reconciling input/output tax, and ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements.
• Stay updated with changes in GST regulations and coordinate with external consultants or auditors as needed.
• Supporting the billing & invoicing process, including invoice generation, verification, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely dispatch to clients.
• Handle customer and vendor queries related to billing, payments, or tax compliance.
• Enter and update financial data in the ERP system, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and proper classification of transactions.
• Assist senior accountants in preparing financial reports, conducting internal audits, and supporting external audits.
• Perform account reconciliations, vendor and customer ledger reviews, and follow up on outstanding balances.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience
• Working knowledge of GST regulations, return filing, and compliance procedures.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office. (MS Excel is a must)
• Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, time management, and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
