Our services include Sound, Color Grading, and VisualEffects, offering clients an end-to-end creative pipeline.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced FX Supervisor to lead our team of FX artists in developing high-enddynamic simulations and effects. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, artistic vision, andstrong leadership capabilities. The FX Supervisor will collaborate closely with other VFX departmentsto ensure visually stunning and technically robust effects that align with the creative vision of theproject.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of FX artists and technicians across multiple projects.
  • Oversee the development of complex simulations such as fire, water, smoke, explosions,
destruction, cloth, and particles.
  • Collaborate with departments including animation, lighting, compositing, and CG to ensure
seamless FX integration.
  • Work closely with the VFX Supervisor and CG Supervisor to interpret creative direction and
develop technical solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to meet creative and technical challenges.
  • Review FX shots and provide constructive feedback to maintain artistic and technical consistency.
  • Ensure simulations meet quality standards and are delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Help define, maintain, and optimize FX workflows and pipelines for scalability and performance.
  • Support recruitment, mentoring, and performance reviews of FX team members.

Skills & Attributes

  • Expert knowledge of industry-standard FX software (e.g., Houdini, Maya Dynamics, Blender).
  • Strong understanding of physics-based simulations, procedural workflows, and particle systems.
  • Experience with rendering engines such as Mantra, Karma, Redshift, or Arnold.
  • Artistic sensibility with a solid grasp of motion, timing, and cinematic storytelling.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and propose efficient, creative solutions.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or VEX (bonus).
  • Proactive, organized, and collaborative with a drive for innovation.
  • Experience using production tracking tools like ShotGrid, Kitsu, etc.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in VFX, Animation, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in FX development and supervision within high-end VFX production.
  • A portfolio or reel showcasing advanced FX simulations and leadership experience in feature films,
episodics, or high-end commercials.

  • Calm, clear communicator who performs well under pressure.
  • Passionate about visual storytelling and pushing the boundaries of simulation realism.
  • Forward-thinking and proactive in exploring new tools and workflows.
