Role Overview

The Vice Principal serves as the second head of the school and officiates as Principal in their absence. The role involves supporting the Principal in academic leadership, school operations, staff development, and ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and overall school performance.


Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

  • Support the Principal in achieving the school’s strategic goals and quality standards.
  • Lead curriculum development and review; update policies annually.
  • Monitor and enhance teaching quality, student learning outcomes, and academic standards.
  • Conduct classroom observations and promote best teaching practices.
  • Plan and implement academic improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee assessment, reporting, and target-setting processes.
  • Collaborate with Section Heads and Department Heads to ensure curriculum delivery and evaluation.
  • Stay updated with educational reforms and innovations.
  • Teach a subject area as a role model educator.
  • Support professional growth through training and continuous learning.

Communication & Interpersonal Relationships

  • Maintain daily communication with the Principal and report key updates.
  • Ensure timely communication between school leadership, staff, and parents.
  • Handle student and parent concerns effectively and respectfully.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and a positive school culture.
  • Lead, motivate, and support teachers for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Central Office, PTA, and leadership teams for strategic planning and decision-making.

Infrastructure & Safety

  • Ensure a safe, disciplined, and positive school environment.
  • Act as the Deputy Designated Person for child protection and welfare.
  • Promote safety, wellbeing, and discipline among students and staff.
  • Collaborate with the administration for maintenance and safety compliance.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Implement school policies and uphold discipline systems.
  • Assist in timetable design for optimal teaching and learning.
  • Oversee induction for new staff and students.
  • Participate in recruitment, appraisals, and staff development programs.
  • Support budget planning, resource management, and compliance reporting.
  • Ensure high attendance and punctuality standards across the school.
  • Maintain academic and administrative records efficiently.
