Transport Executive

Job Title: Traffic Executive Job Summary: We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Traffic Executive to oversee the placement, scheduling, and movement of vehicles for freight operations. The role ensures timely pickups and deliveries, effective price negotiation with vendors, and smooth coordination between customers, fleet owners, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities : • Identify, source, and place vehicles as per customer load requirements. • Negotiate freight rates with fleet owners/vendors to optimize cost while ensuring service quality. • Plan, schedule, and dispatch vehicles for pickup and delivery of goods. • Monitor truck movements and trip progress, ensuring on-time completion. • Act as the main point of contact between customers, drivers, and fleet owners. • Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure regular availability of vehicles. • Track shipments via GPS/transport management systems and update customers proactively. • Resolve operational issues such as delays, driver concerns, or vehicle breakdowns. • Ensure accurate documentation, billing, POD collection, and record-keeping. • Prepare daily/weekly MIS reports on fleet utilization, vendor performance, and rate trends. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field. • 1–3 years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or fleet coordination. • Strong knowledge of trucking routes, market freight rates, and vendor ecosystem. • Proven ability to source vehicles and negotiate competitive freight prices. • Good communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and client handling. • Proficiency in MS Excel, GPS tracking platforms, or transport management systems (TMS). • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure situations. Preferred Attributes • Experience in long-haul trucking / freight brokerage. • Strong negotiation, persuasion, and relationship management skills • Flexible with working hours, especially during peak operations
