TM - MANUFACTURING (LOGISTICS)

Job Title: Shift Leader – Logistics
Location: chennai Department: Logistics / Supply Chain Reports To: Logistics Head Shift: [3 Shift operation]

Key Responsibilities:

Operations:

• Oversee and coordinate daily production schedules to meet OEM supply requirements.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards with packing and customer requirements.
• Share the customer requirement to production and ensure to avail the stock as per norms

Warehouse & Inventory:

• Supervise warehouse activities including receiving, storage, material issuance, and dispatch.
• Ensure the packing material availability to meet the production requirements .
• Must have knowledge about the cycle count and inventory audit.
• Knowledge required to maintain the safety in warehouse and equipment skills.
• Ensure proper inventory management using FIFO/FEFO principles.
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to stock levels and movements.

Logistics & Transportation:

• Coordinate timely dispatches to OEM clients while ensuring compliance with delivery schedules.
• Co ordinate with transport vendors to manage vehicle availability and route optimization.
• Ensure the TAT and window time process as per customer norms.
• Monitor transport costs and work on reducing freight expenses.

Manpower Management:

• Plan and manage workforce deployment during shifts to ensure operational efficiency.
• Provide training, guidance, and supervision to shop floor employees.
• Monitor shift attendance, performance, and enforce discipline.

Packaging:

• Ensure correct packaging standards are followed based on OEM/client specifications.
• Work on improving packaging efficiency and material utilization.

Cost Optimization:

• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives in production, logistics, and material handling.
• Reduce waste and improve operational productivity through continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Graduate/Diploma in Engineering, any degree or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing or OEM supply environment.
• Experience in shift supervision and managing cross-functional teams.

Skills Required:

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Good understanding of production processes and logistics operations.
• Knowledge of ERP/WMS systems is an advantage.
• Ability to analyze data and implement process improvements.
• Medium communication and problem-solving skills.
