You Are:

You are a passionate and detail-oriented senior technical writer with a proven track record in the software or hardware industry, eager to contribute your expertise in documentation for complex, high-tech products. With at least 8-10 years of technical writing experience, you thrive in dynamic environments where innovation and collaboration are key. You possess a deep understanding of technical writing processes and are adept at translating intricate technical concepts into clear, concise, and accessible documentation for engineers, scientists, and global audiences.

Your ability to work autonomously is matched by your talent for fostering teamwork and your adaptability in reprioritizing tasks as business needs evolve. You excel at gathering information from diverse sources, including prototype software, technical specifications, and collaborative discussions with developers and engineers. You are comfortable taking ownership of projects, seeing them through from conception to completion, and implementing new initiatives to streamline documentation processes.

You are committed to continuous learning and are enthusiastic about leveraging new tools and technologies, such as DITA, Adobe FrameMaker, Gitlab, and CI/CD pipelines, to enhance documentation quality and efficiency. Your experience spans working with global teams and non-native English speakers, and you have a keen eye for adapting materials to suit a wide variety of audiences. Your technical acumen, particularly in the semiconductor or microprocessor industry, is complemented by your proficiency with markup languages, document automation, and verification tools. What You’ll Be Doing:

• Developing, maintaining, and delivering high-quality documentation for Synopsys’ ARC® portfolio, including CPU/DSP cores, subsystems, and development tools.
• Gathering information from prototype software, technical specifications, feature demos, and direct collaboration with developers and applications engineers.
• Leading product documentation initiatives for assigned IP, identifying and implementing process improvements to reduce bottlenecks and enhance efficiency.
• Planning, writing, updating, and publishing user guides, reference manuals, release notes, application notes, and tutorials for a global technical audience.
• Interacting regularly with cross-functional product teams and other technical writers to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness of documentation.
• Evaluating user information needs and developing creative solutions to address and anticipate those needs, ensuring documentation remains relevant and user-friendly.
• Adopting document automation and verification tools to streamline content creation and quality assurance processes for hardware products.
• Supporting the documentation needs of new product features, software releases, and ecosystem integrations within the ARC processor family.

What You’ll Need:

• 8-10 years of technical writing experience in the software or hardware industry, preferably with exposure to semiconductors or microprocessor toolchains.
• Expertise in writing complex technical concepts for technical audiences, with a solid grasp of technical writing methodologies and processes.
• Proficiency in DITA, Adobe FrameMaker, Gitlab, and CI/CD workflows, as well as document automation and verification for hardware products.
• Hands-on experience with markup languages such as ReStructured Text (ReST), Markdown, Sphinx, and LaTeX, as well as JSON/HTML usage in technical writing.
• Ability to adapt and refine materials authored by non-native English speakers and to communicate effectively across diverse, global teams.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word for publishing complex documents, and familiarity with Visio for diagramming.
• Experience with document defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira), and a functional understanding of Linux or UNIX environments is a plus.
• Desirable: Ability to read Python code to support/extend Sphinx infrastructure, and familiarity with standard style guides.
