At SignSetu, we are dedicated to transforming Deaf education through our innovative web application. Our mission is to create an engaging and accessible learning platform that empowers Deaf learners and fosters their educational growth. SignSetu is an inclusive, gamified learning platform designed to make language learning accessible and fun for Deaf users through visual-first communication, sign language, and storytelling. Inspired by Duolingo, we are building short lessons, games, sign-integrated dictionaries, multiplayer modes, and data-driven insights to support real language acquisition for Deaf learners. We are looking for a mission-driven Tech Lead to lead the technical development of our app, ensuring smooth team collaboration, robust functionality, and a scalable architecture using MERN stack, and own the architecture, execution, and evolution of our platform. Responsibilities: Technical Guidance: Lead the end-to-end architecture and development of SignSetu's web platform and backend systems. Provide technical leadership, defining project scope, objectives, and milestones. Collaborate with the founder, designers, and curriculum experts to bring the product vision to life. Make strategic tech decisions while balancing speed, scalability, and inclusivity. Evaluate and recommend third-party tools, integrations, and plugins to enhance functionality. Build and guide a small, high-performing development team. Ensure clean code, structured versioning, and seamless deployment pipelines. Contribute to rapid prototyping, iteration, and user testing cycles. 2.Team Supervision: Supervise the team daily, monitoring progress and addressing challenges to ensure timely delivery. Train and onboard team members, offering hands-on experience. Delegate tasks based on team members' strengths and expertise, ensuring smooth workflow. 3.MVP Development: Oversee the design and functionality of the prototype, maintaining high standards of UX/UI. Test for performance, responsiveness, and accessibility while resolving bugs and technical issues. Ensure scalability and maintainability of the MVP throughout development. 4.Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of the app’s workflows, architecture, and integrations. Ensure all processes and updates are clearly documented for team alignment and knowledge sharing. 5.Collaboration and Communication: Act as the bridge between technical and non-technical teams, translating requirements into actionable tasks. Regularly update stakeholders on progress and gather feedback to improve the MVP. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment, encouraging creative solutions to challenges. Requirements: 2-5 years of full-stack development experience (startup or product-building background is a plus) Strong technical problem-solving. Strong leadership skills and experience in leading a team. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Experience supervising teams and managing daily technical operations. Passion for social impact and creating inclusive solutions. Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices is a plus. Strong proficiency in React.js, Strapi.js and Node.js Comfortable working with MongoDB and/or Firebase Firestore Familiarity with Unity integration (or ability to collaborate with Unity devs) Experience with CMS platforms like Strapi Knowledge of WebRTC and video handling in web apps Experience in setting up cloud storage , analytics , and deployment pipelines Why join us?
