The Tank Farm In-Charge will be responsible for the overall operation, supervision, and safe management of the plant’s tank farm facilities. The role requires ensuring safe receipt, unloading, storage, dispatch of materials, compliance with statutory requirements, and coordination with production, maintenance, and logistics teams.

Key Responsibilities
· Supervise receipt, unloading, and storage of raw materials (oils/fats, methanol, HCl, etc.), intermediates, and biodiesel.
· Ensure safe loading/unloading of bulk tankers.
· Oversee additive dosing, blending, and product transfer operations.
· Monitor tank levels, temperatures, and pressures through DCS and manual checks.
· Ensure timely receipt & dispatch of materials to respective storage/utility areas.
· Implement and enforce safety procedures for handling hazardous chemicals (methanol, HCl).
· Ensure all storage facilities comply with PESO, Factories Act, Pollution Control Board, and other statutory norms.
· Maintain MSDS records and ensure use of proper PPE by all personnel.
· Conduct periodic equipment checks.
· Ensure effluent, spillages are handled as per ESHS (Environmental, Safety, Health & Security) guidelines.
· Lead a team of tank farm operators and helpers, ensure shift coverage.
· Coordinate with production, utilities, maintenance, and EHS for smooth tank farm operations.
· Support audit teams (internal, external, ISCC, ISO, statutory bodies) with tank farm data and compliance records.
· Ensure preventive maintenance of pumps, valves, pipelines, flow meters, nitrogen blanketing, and firefighting systems in tank farm.
· Plan periodic tank cleaning, inspection, and calibration schedules.
· Maintain good housekeeping in tank farm area with clear demarcations and safety signages.
· Maintain logbooks, stock registers, ERP entries, and daily MIS reports of receipts/dispatches.
· Report any abnormalities, leaks, or safety hazards immediately.
· Prepare monthly reports on tank utilization, product balances, and operational KPIs.

Qualifications & Experience:
· Diploma / Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
· Minimum 5–8 years of experience in tank farm operations or storage management, preferably in biodiesel, chemicals, or oil & gas industry.

Skills & Competencies:
· Strong knowledge of tank farm operations, storage, and handling of flammable/chemical liquids.
· Sound understanding of safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality control.
· Leadership and team management skills.
· Good communication and coordination skills.

Work Environment:
· Industrial environment with exposure to chemicals, flammable materials, and heavy equipment.
· Adherence to PPE and safety protocols is mandatory
