Position Overview We're seeking a passionate Backend System Engineer to build the future of observability infrastructure powered by AI agents. You'll design and implement high-performance, scalable systems from the ground up in a fast-paced startup environment where you can make a real impact. Key Responsibilities Design and implement highly scalable, low-latency microservices architecture for observability platforms Build and maintain cloud-native infrastructure using Kubernetes and modern container orchestration Develop large-scale data analytics pipelines for real-time observability and monitoring Integrate AI agents with existing infrastructure systems and observability tools Optimize system performance, reliability, and throughput for high-volume data processing Design and implement distributed messaging systems and event-driven architectures Collaborate with AI/ML teams to enable seamless human-AI interactions in SRE workflows Build robust APIs and services that support real-time analytics and alerting Participate in system architecture decisions and technical design reviews Ensure system security, monitoring, and operational excellence Qualifications Experience: 3+ years building highly scalable, distributed backend systems Programming Languages: Proficiency in Rust, Go, Python for backend development Distributed Systems: Deep hands-on experience with microservices, distributed databases, and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.) Analytical Databases: Strong knowledge of ClickHouse, Apache Pinot, or similar columnar databases Cloud Infrastructure: Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms Container Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker Observability Standards: Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and monitoring best practices Computer Science Foundation: Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and system design Statistics & Analytics: Knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis techniques Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Show more Show less
