Job Purpose/ Summary The job summary for an Electrical Engineer in a Pipe Plant typically involves the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment used in the manufacturing processes of pipes. The engineers play a critical role in ensuring that the electrical infrastructure supports the production line and overall operations of the plant. Job Title Support - Electrical Maintenance - Pipe Plant - Jhagadia - Steel Job Description Design electrical systems, control panels, and wiring layouts to meet the needs of plant equipment, machinery, and automation systems. Develop electrical schematics, control diagrams, and specifications for new systems and upgrades to existing systems. Select and specify electrical components, motors, and control devices in compliance with industry standards.Oversee and participate in the installation of electrical equipment and systems, ensuring the installation meets the engineering specifications, safety standards, and codes.Commission electrical systems, ensuring proper setup, calibration, and functionality before they are fully integrated into the production line.Monitor the performance of electrical systems and conduct routine inspections to ensure continuous operation and identify areas requiring maintenance or repair.Work with control systems (e.g., PLC, SCADA. to optimize production processes and ensure smooth operation.Implement electrical safety procedures and perform risk assessments to ensure safe operation of equipment and systems.Work closely with mechanical, civil, and process engineers to ensure integration between electrical systems and other plant systems.Maintain accurate records of electrical designs, modifications, maintenance schedules, and performance logs. Principal Accountabilities Supervise and/or carry out the installation of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring proper wiring, safety protocols, and adherence to engineering specifications. Plan and execute scheduled preventive maintenance for electrical systems, including motors, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers., transformers, circuit breakers, and lighting systems. Diagnose and resolve electrical faults and malfunctions in machinery or systems to minimize downtime and maintain continuous production. Monitor energy usage across electrical systems and identify opportunities to reduce consumption or improve energy efficiency. Assist maintenance teams, operators, and other engineers with electrical system-related issues and troubleshooting. Continuously monitor and analyze electrical systems’ performance to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely.
