Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) and Architects to understand product requirements & vision
Capture system level requirements by brainstorming with Architects & Sr. Architects, Product Managers/Owners
For the system level requirements, Identify the scope of the work, provide initial estimate and justify the estimate with facts
Provide technical leadership to an agile team of 5-7 team members(including Vendor)
Lead technical design and discussions and present technical ideas through white boarding
Translate requirements / vision into prioritized list of user stories and deliver on required timelines and quality standards
Ensure team receives consistent messages and has clear understanding of business direction, strategy and results
Ready for hands on coding and ability to write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project
Designs, develops, tests, and deploys software. Tactical work with understanding of wide range of design approaches.
Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse
Makes application-level trade-off decisions regarding technical and design approaches
Assists with estimates, reviews code, and provides technical guidance to the team
Understand performance parameters and assess application performance
Work closely with your peers and agile team in a fast paced delivery mode and focus on delivering tasks to meet the product release goal
Work cross functionally with other business departments to align activities and deliverables
Drive world-class quality in the development and support of products
Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
Automate manual or repetitive tasks within the software development lifecycle. Lead discussions and initiatives to implement automation, ensuring the team adopts and benefits from these improvements.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
Overall 10+ Years of strong experience in software development in Application Development
Essentials Skills:
Good knowledge of Microservices design and development, and deployment in Kubernetes
Good knowledge of AWS ,Performance and Reliability design and development (AWS certification is a plus)
NoSQL Database Design (preferably MongoDB)
Experience in Java, Springboot, Microservices
Excellent knowledge of debugging tools to address performance and reliability bottlenecks
Good knowledge in unit testing using JUnit and mock frameworks.
Experience in Agile development practices: Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD)
Knowledge of React , Angular ,HTML 5 is an added advantage
Continuously assess the SDLC for automation opportunities.
Lead the team in adopting automation tools and practices.
Drive discussions and implementation of automation strategies to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability
Desired Characteristics:
Good problem-solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices
Leadership:
Ability to takes ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members
Ensures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale. Able to speak to mutual needs and win-win solutions. Uses two-way communication to influence outcomes and ongoing results
Identifies misalignments with goals, objectives, and work direction against the organizational strategy. Makes suggestions to course correct
Continuously measures deliverables of self and team against scheduled commitments. Effectively balances different, competing objectives
Show leadership in driving change and influencing teams to adopt automation.
