Job Responsibilities :
Preparation of data sheets, specifications, scope of works and MR#s for all project equipment such as pumps, process gas compressors, flare tip, ETP, air compressors, nitrogen generator, material handling equipment, HVAC, filter coalescers, etc.Technical bid evaluation, recommendation for awards and vendor design reviewPreparation of technical documentsReview and approval of basic and detailed engineering documentsManage interfaces and participate in design review workshopsReview execution method statements / work procedures, etc.Visit manufacturing shops, engineering consultant offices for project coordination, design reviews and expediting, testing, etc.Visit construction site for coordination and supervision of equipment installation works, pre-commissioning and commissioning works and for handing over the equipment / packages to O&M.Main Purpose:Project management, budget control, engineering, vendor management,interface management, support to construction, facilitating commissioning, and steady state support for Mechanical packages and equipment.
Job Accountabilities (duties And Responsibilities).
- Prepare technical documents related to conceptual and basic engineering of Mechanical Packages and Equipment
- Carry out conceptual equipment sizing and train configuration studies.
- Prepare conceptual cost estimates
- Review of detail engineering deliverables prepared by Engineering Consultant
- Technical Bid Analysis and preparation of Technical Recommendation for placement of order.
- Review Vendor engineering documents and coordinate with all stake holders for collation of comments.
- Check for compliance with regulations, codes and standards for design of mechanical equipment and packages.
- Expedite engineering, manufacturing, testing, commissioning and implement mitigation measures for delays.
- Prepare and maintain interface management register for all packages and equipment.
- Visits to various vendor shops for expediting. Attend final testing and coordinate for despatch clearance.
- Coordinate with vendor representative for site supervision services and support Construction team in installation and pre-commissioning.
Skills Required (Knowledge And Skills)
- Should be conversant with applicable National (IS) and International standards IS,API,ASTM etcfor the selection, specifying, design, manufacturing, testing and commissioning of Mechanical Packages and equipment.
- Should be conversant with equipment sizing, train configuration studies etc
- Should be conversant with special studies like life cycle cost analysis etc
- Should be conversant with selection of equipment (type of pump, compressor etc) for a given set of process condition
- Should be conversant with applicable codes and standards for pressure vessels, columns, column internals, pumps, compressors, process packages etc.
- Should be conversant with the review of engineering documents like datasheets, GA drawings, pressure vessel sizing calculations etc
- Should have cross discipline function knowledge Process, Piping, Instrument, mechanical.
- Should be conversant with safety studies like HAZOP, HAZID etc.
- Should be capable of managing Vendors and external stake holders
- Should possess good oral and written communication skills
- Should possess good problem-solving skills.
Education Requirement :
Graduate engineer # Mechanical
Experience Requirement :
6 - 10 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry or refinery with hands-on experience of detailed engineering and manufacturing stage coordination of pressure vessels, tanks, filters, API/ non-API / fire water pumps, reciprocating compressors, pre-assembled packages, ETP, Flare, Air compressors, etc.
Skills & Competencies :
Knowledge of preparing data sheets, specifications, MR#s for pressure vessels, filters, tanks, pumps, reciprocating compressors, ETP, air compressor packages, flare tip package, material handling equipment and HVAC system.Familiar with applicable API, ANSI, ASME, OISD, NFPA, IS Codes and StandardsShould have exposure to working in multidisciplinary environmentShould be able to coordinate with Process, Piping, E&I, CSA disciplines for interface engineering documents review and approvalShould be familiar with manufacturing shop floor activities, welding procedures, testing protocols, Quality DocumentationShould be familiar with site installation activities, mechanical completion, commissioning and performance testing associated with pressure vessels, internals, tanks, filters, pumps, reciprocating compressors, flare, ETP, air compressor packages, material handling equipment and HVAC system.
