If you're looking for challenging work, smart colleagues, and a global employer with a social conscience, explore your potential at Invesco.We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior MuleSoft API Engineer to join our technology team and play a pivotal role in architecting and leading API-led integrations across our asset management platforms. In this influential position, you will design, develop, and deploy secure, scalable integration solutions that are critical to our business operations. Leveraging your expertise in MuleSoft (Mule 4.x), Java, AWS, Bitbucket/Git, SQL, and reporting tools, you will enable seamless data exchange and workflow automation between key financial systems—including Data Lake/Warehouse and ECM etc.Key Responsibilities
  • Architect & Develop Integrations
  • Design, build, and optimize robust, high-performance APIs and integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (REST, SOAP, RAML).
  • Implement advanced error handling, security protocols (OAuth, JWT), and ensure scalability and reliability of all integration solutions.
  • Leverage DataWeave for complex data transformations and ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Lead & Mentor Teams
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of developers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and ensure adherence to architectural standards and business objectives.
  • Manage API Lifecycle & System Integrations
  • Oversee the complete API lifecycle—from initial design and development to deployment, monitoring, and retirement.
  • Lead integrations with enterprise systems such as Data Lake, ECM, and other mission-critical platforms, ensuring seamless data flow and business process automation.
  • Collaborate & Communicate
  • Partner with cross-functional teams—including business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders—to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Document integration architectures and clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support & Continuous Improvement
  • Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues to ensure system stability and performance.
  • Stay abreast of the latest MuleSoft trends and best practices, pursue relevant certifications, and champion DevOps methodologies (CI/CD, automated testing) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Project Planning & Delivery
  • Estimate, plan, and execute integration projects, managing timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful project outcomes aligned with organizational goals.

Required Skills And Qualifications

Experience:
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including design, development, deployment, and management of APIs and integrations.
  • Deep expertise with Mule 4 and DataWeave 2.x for data transformation and integration.
Certifications (Preferred):
  • MuleSoft Certified Developer (preferred)
  • MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect (a plus)
  • MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect (a plus)
Technical Skills:
  • Proven track record of building and deploying APIs using MuleSoft (Mule 4.x, Anypoint Studio), with a focus on security, scalability, and performance.
  • Experience deploying and managing APIs on MuleSoft Runtime Fabric (RTF) and CloudHub environments.
  • Proficient in source code management using Bitbucket and Git, and implementing CI/CD pipelines for automated build and deployment.
  • Advanced SQL skills, with experience in financial data analysis using Snowflake, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
  • Integration of APIs and data sources with reporting tools to enable real-time analytics and business intelligence.
  • Applied knowledge of AWS and GCP for API hosting, data storage, and scalable application deployment.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust integration solutions.
Additional Skills:
  • Strong background in DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD pipeline design and implementation, and containerization.
  • Proficient in Java or other programming languages, enabling versatile software development and integration.
  • Familiarity with various integration platforms and the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and technologies; experience with additional integration platforms is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with message brokers such as ActiveMQ, Kafka, and RabbitMQ, supporting reliable and scalable message-driven architectures.
Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
