Overall Purpose Of Job
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist to join our team. This role will focus on ensuring that data meets the needs of the business by validating, cleaning, and transforming data to drive actionable insights. The BI Specialist will also be responsible for querying data, reporting findings, and creating meaningful data visualizations to support business decisions.
Requirements & Competencies
Work Experience:
- 2-5 years of hands-on analytics experience
- Experience working with senior executives and distilling business requirements into tangible analytics deliverables.
Technology Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Specialist, Data Analyst, or similar role
- Proficiency in BI tools and data analysis platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Domo, SQL, Excel)
- Strong experience with data cleaning, transformation, and querying
- Ability to work with large datasets and extract meaningful insights
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality
- Solid understanding of data visualization best practices and tools
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex data insights to non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or R for advanced data manipulation is a plus
Responsibilities
- Validate Data Meets Business Needs: Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure that data is aligned with business requirements and objectives, confirming data quality and accuracy.
- Perform Data Cleaning and Transformation: Clean, preprocess, and transform raw data into structured formats, ensuring that data is accurate, complete, and ready for analysis.
- Query Data and Report Results: Use SQL and other querying tools to extract, analyze, and summarize data, presenting key findings and insights in an easily digestible format.
- Develop Data Visualizations: Design and create effective data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to present complex data in a clear and actionable way for internal stakeholders.
