The role requires working knowledge of the New Product Introduction (NPI) Development Process. The candidate should be capable of setting and managing expectations with stakeholders, understanding the broader system and business perspective, and identifying and escalating risks early. Skills in analyzing complex and ambiguous situations to provide clear direction to development teams are important. Basic project management competencies in cost, time, risk, and vendor management are required. Experience with Microsoft Project or other scheduling tools, as well as Agile methodology, is considered beneficial.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Meticulous planning, executing to the plan by rigorous tracking to meet all key milestone dates
- Learn and able to report project and business metrics ( Earned value management metrics (CPI, SPI, EV).
- Effective management of all stakeholders
- Provide accurate and timely project status information, milestones and metrics to key stakeholders
- Ensure programs/projects/tasks are delivered on time and that they meet financial, performance, quality and reliability goals
- Manage communications within team to meet program objectives
- Collaborate with cross-functional/global teams effectively to meet program objective
Essential PM Skills
- Working knowledge of NPI Development Process is preferred
- Ability to set judicious expectations and manage them with key stakeholders
- Ability to understand whole system/business perspective, identify and early escalation of risks at the right time
- Ability to quickly assess unclear, complex, and ambiguous situations and reduce into distinct, clear, timely, and stable direction for the development team.
- Good knowledge on basic PM areas like Cost, Time, Risk and vendor management
- Experience in usage of Microsoft project/any other scheduling tools would be added advantage
- Experience with Agile methodology would be added advantage
Qualifications
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelors / Masters Degree in Engineering
- PMP/SAFe Certified would be an added advantage or willingness to complete the certification within 1-2 yrs
- 10-12 Yrs experience in New Product Development and at least 5-7 years leading projects/ leading design ownership (preferably experienced in HW projects).
- Experience in Sensor development would be added advantage (Industrial, Healthcare, Aerospace and Transportation)
- Lean Six Sigma process experience would be an added advantage
