Senior Accountant

to manage and oversee daily accounting operations, financial reporting, budget management, and compliance with statutory requirements. This role demands strong analytical skills, precision in handling financial data, and the ability to work effectively across multiple functions.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

  • Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and accounts with accuracy.
  • Ensure timely recording of financial transactions and proper documentation.
  • Process invoices, expense reports, and payments efficiently.
  • Reconcile bank statements and oversee cash flow management.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Prior experience in cost center accounting will be an advantage.

Payroll Handling

  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees.
  • Collect, calculate, and input payroll data, including salaries, benefits, deductions, and taxes.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and company policies.
  • Oversee statutory filings and timely payment of employment-related taxes.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, etc.).
  • Develop financial summaries and reports for management review.

Budget Management

  • Assist in preparing budgets and monitoring actuals against projections.
  • Identify and report variances for corrective action.

Compliance and Auditing

  • Ensure adherence to accounting principles, standards, and policies.
  • Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
  • Stay informed on updates to accounting regulations and best practices.

Taxation

  • Prepare and file GST, TDS, and other statutory returns within timelines.
  • Assist in tax planning and ensure compliance with all tax obligations.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain organized financial records and files.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for financial information and support.
  • Perform other finance-related administrative tasks as required.

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field. A professional qualification such as CA is a plus.
  • Experience: 5-6 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance roles. Prior experience at a CA firm or accounting firm is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in Tally and MS Office (Excel, Word).
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills
