We, a c t Infraport Limited, a leading shipping & logistics company, offering the services of Chartering, Custom Broker, Cargo Handling, Stevedoring, Shipping Agency, Warehousing & Transportation, having presence in PAN India & Overseas, are looking for dynamic professional for the following position, based out of Corporate Office, Gandhidham:
Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Supply Chain Management (preferred).
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in marine or industrial sourcing, preferably within a shipowner, ship management, or marine supply company. Overall 7+ years of experience.
The Sourcing Head will be responsible for identifying, validating, and securing cost-efficient global sources for marine parts and services covering deck, engine, repair & maintenance (R&M), provisions, and technical consumables. This is an individual contributor role demanding strong commercial acumen, negotiation capabilities, and technical understanding of shipboard systems and supplies. The role directly contributes to optimizing vessel operating expenses and ensuring value-for-money procurement aligned with owner objectives.
- Contractual Governance of Ship Managers with established KPI basis on performance and cost parameters.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and service providers globally for marine spares, deck and engine stores, maintenance materials, and vessel provisions.
- Lead commercial negotiations to achieve the best possible pricing, payment terms, and supply reliability (in partnering with Ship Manager)
- Validate quotations and sourcing proposals received from ship managers and ensure compliance with internal governance and contractual standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Procurement Officer to standardize sourcing parameters, price benchmarks, and vendor performance measures.
- Analyse vessel expenditure patterns and highlight cost improvement opportunities through sourcing consolidation or alternative sourcing routes.
- Maintain market intelligence on marine equipment suppliers, price trends, and emerging vendors in major maritime hubs.
- Establish framework or rate contracts where beneficial to ensure price transparency and supply continuity.
- Ensure full adherence to procurement policy, process audit, record-keeping, and contract governance procedures.
- Act as the key internal advisor to the Procurement team on marine-specific technical and commercial sourcing matters.
- Strong understanding of marine equipment categories, supply logistics, and vessel operational needs.
- Proven negotiation, analytical, and vendor development skills with demonstrated cost-saving achievements.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of interfacing with technical superintendents and vessel managers.
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently under time-sensitive conditions.
