Software quality Assurance Manager

Project Knowledge:

• Understand End-to-End Project Architecture
• Understand all the integration points (WK and third party) that represent testing risk
• Understand the application(s) under test
• Understand the Environments and Release process and propose changes as needed
  

Responsibilities:

• Supervise the daily activities of entry-level QA professionals.
• Coordinate the execution of manual and automated tests.
• Ensure adherence to QA processes and methodologies.
• Review and approve test cases and test plans.
• Monitor and report on testing progress and defect status.
• Collaborate with development teams to resolve quality issues.
• Implement and enforce quality metrics and standards.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure test coverage.
• Conduct regular team meetings to discuss project status and challenges.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members.
  

Skills:

• Test Planning: Ability to create and review comprehensive test plans.
• Defect Management: Proficiency in tracking and managing software defects.
• QA Processes: Understanding of quality assurance methodologies and processes.
• Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with development teams and report progress.
• Test Automation Tools: Familiarity with tools like Selenium, JUnit, or similar.
• Attention to Detail: Keen eye for identifying potential quality issues.
• Leadership: Basic team supervision and coordination skills.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve testing-related issues.
  

QE Process/Deliverables:

• Ensure that all test cases for the sprint should be done in the first few days of the sprint, before the stories are deployed to QE. Test Cases should be Baselined before they are executed.
• Fully familiar with all QE MoWs, tools, and processes.
• Ensure Test cases are reviewed to ensure that the story is appropriately covered.
• Ensure qTest artifact creation and maintenance (Test Plans/Releases, Test Cycles, Test Suites, etc) before sprint test execution begins.
• Ensure Launchpad test plan creation and maintenance, before the test execution for the sprint starts.
• Ensure defects are properly triaged.
• Ensure the EDA process takes place for all PROD or STG defects.
• Engage/work with the perf engineering team to ensure proper performance testing is scheduled appropriately with project milestones in mind.
  

Sprint Ceremonies:

• Ensure active QE participation in sprint planning and grooming meetings to ensure QE questions and needs are considered.
• Ensure QE's requirement/story clarifications are received before design/coding.
• Make sure that there is QE representation in all the calls as appropriate.
• Active participation in Retrospective calls to bring up all the issues and work with the team towards preventing them in future.
  

Technical Skills:

• Review test Automation (UI & API) design and approach and make sure that test automation approach follows the Method of Work.
