Global Business Services (GBS) delivers Technology and Operations capabilities to Lines of Business and Staff Support Functions of Bank of America through a centrally managed, globally integrated delivery model and globally resilient operations.Global Business Services is recognized for flawless execution, sound risk management, operational resiliency, operational excellence and innovation.In India, we are present in five locations and operate as BA Continuum India Private Limited (BACI), a non-banking subsidiary of Bank of America Corporation and the operating company for India operations of Global Business Services.
Process Overview
The Global Risk Technology (GRT) team provides technology solutions to support the Chief Risk Officer, Secondary Marketing, Global Principal Investments, Corporate Treasury, and Enterprise Capital Management Organizations. The Risk technology teams calculates various risk metrics including Credit, Market and Liquidity Risk for the various LOBs within the bank, supports the Risk business to generate actionable insights and ensure that we stay within our Risk Limits. It also enables reporting of the data to various regulators and supports key regulatory mandates including Enterprise Stress Test and CCAR runs.Global Risk Analytics Tech (GRA Tech) are responsible for supporting development and execution of models, analytical tools for effective risk and capital measurement, management and reporting across Bank of America. GRA partners with the Lines of Business to ensure the capabilities it builds address both internal and regulatory requirements, and are responsive to the changing nature of portfolios, economic conditions, and emerging risks. In executing its activities, GRA drives innovation, process improvement and automation.Hands-on Data Engineer is required within the GRA technology group to support the business with their day-to-day and overall data requirements. The role will be responsible for maintaining centralized data sourcing platform, analyzing the new data sourcing requirements, liaising closely with the business users and providing data support.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and end users to understand the data requirement and come up with the delivery plan. Analyze requirement and provide delivery estimates.
- Management and monitoring of existing data sourcing platform.
- Design and coordinate within the technology teams to streamline existing data services and resolve ongoing data related issues.
- Lead the data support and maintenance activities in lower lane environments and work with Application Support team to deliver adhoc data related requirements in Production.
- Design, develop and implement automation scripts for various types of data loads.
- Support production support team, investigate and provide resolution for ongoing data issues.
- Report status and progress on assigned and ongoing tasks.
- Ability to multitask, work well under pressure, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Responsible for preparing and providing technical documentation.
Requirements
- 6 – 8 Years of IT experience with 4+ Years of relevant experience in developing ETL/Data sourcing solutions in Hadoop & RDBMS technologies. Well versed working with heterogenous data sources (Hadoop, RDBMS etc.)
- 3+ years of programming experience using Python/Java
- Experienced with enterprise level data solutions. Prior experience of Database administration would be a plus.
- Good programming knowledge with Hadoop, HIVE, Spark, Unix, Shell Scripting, Relational Databases.
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation
- Good understanding of agile development and knowledge of JIRA. Ability to quickly adapt to changing requirements.
- Strong analytical ability, detail-oriented, independent problem solving, and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in technical documentation, requirement analysis and user guidelines.
Education-
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related discipline; MS is a plus.

Foundational Skills
- SQL writing background with RDBMS (SQL SERVER/Oracle) and Hadoop (Hive/Spark/Impala etc.)
Desired Skills
- Financial Services Industry experience.
