The Plug Media is a 360° digital-content, talent-management and influencer marketing organisation established in 2018, offering services such as influencer marketing, talent management, public relations, video production and social-media management. We work across fashion, beauty, tech, F&B, travel, auto, entertainment and more — helping brands and creators build authentic voice, compelling content and meaningful engagement.


Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive, creative and data-driven Social Media & Content Strategist to lead our brand storytelling and social presence. You will own content strategy, platform-specific planning, community engagement, performance analysis and work closely with creative, production, influencer and account teams to amplify our clients’ (and our own) voice.

You’ll be the key person ensuring our content is not only visually and narratively strong but also aligned with business goals, social trends, platform best practices, and measurable results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop the overarching social-media content strategy for client brands (and internal brand) aligned with business objectives (brand awareness, lead generation, engagement, conversions)
  • Create detailed content calendars (monthly/quarterly) for these platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn) including format, narrative/angle, publishing cadence, themes, campaigns
  • Ideate, produce (or brief production) and optimise social content: static posts, carousels, short-form video, long-form video, stories/reels, live sessions, UGC/influencer co-created content
  • Work with influencer talent & internal production teams (video, photography, motion graphics) to ensure content is on-brand, platform-appropriate, and quality-ready
  • Monitor platform trends, competitor social activity, best-practice content formats and adapt our strategy and creative accordingly
  • Manage community engagement: respond to comments, messages, engage in conversations, build brand communities; escalate issues/feedback where needed
  • Track performance metrics (KPIs) for content & social (e.g., reach, impressions, engagement rate, click-through, conversion, follower growth, sentiment) and report insights regularly
  • Use data to iterate: conduct A/B tests, identify content that works, refine formats, optimize posting times, refine target audience, etc
  • Collaborate with account/strategy teams to ensure social content integrates with broader marketing campaigns (PR, influencer, paid media)
  • Maintain brand voice guidelines and ensure consistency across social channels
  • Stay abreast of emerging platforms, tools, social innovations and propose pilot ideas to keep the brand ahead of the curve
  • Manage content budgets, timeline, resources and ensure deliverables are on time and within scope
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Journalism or a related field
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in social media content strategy or digital content roles (agency or brand side)
  • Deep understanding of Indian social media landscape + global/social trend awareness
  • Strong creative flair with the ability to craft engaging narratives, visuals and campaigns that resonate with target audiences
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills; ability to adapt tone/voice for different brands and platforms
  • Strong analytical mindset: comfortable working with data, interpreting performance, generating insights, making recommendations
  • Good knowledge of key platforms (Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.), their algorithms, best practices, formats and creative possibilities
  • Experience collaborating with production teams (video, photography, editing, motion graphics) and actors/influencers/UGC creators
  • Project-management skills: comfortable handling multiple brands/campaigns simultaneously, meeting deadlines, coordinating teams and assist in writing briefs.
  • Passion for digital storytelling, content innovation, social culture and emerging formats
  • Bonus: Experience with paid social campaigns, influencer marketing, social listening tools, community-building platforms
