Position Summary:


Smart Grid Engineers are responsible for the design, integration, testing, and optimization of smart grid systems, ensuring the efficient, safe, and stable operation of the grid in terms of digitalization, automation, and distributed energy integration.


This role involves the research and implementation of smart distribution, renewable energy integration, energy storage system management, demand response, and power communication networks, providing technical support for building a digital, low-carbon, and flexible future grid.


Key Responsibilities:


Smart Grid System Design and Planning


Participate in the overall smart grid architecture design, including distributed energy resources (DER), energy storage systems, microgrids, and energy management systems (EMS) planning;


Optimize power network topology to improve the reliability and scalability of the power system.


Automation and Communication System Integration


Design and implement grid automation (SCADA/DMS) systems;


Integrate communication protocols (such as IEC 61850, Modbus, DLMS/COSEM, etc.) to ensure data interconnection between systems.


Data Acquisition and Analysis


Build data analysis models for smart meters (AMI) and sensor networks;


Improve grid operation prediction and load management capabilities through big data, AI, and machine learning algorithms.


Renewable Energy and Energy Storage Integration


Research and implement grid connection control strategies for photovoltaic, wind power, energy storage systems, and the main grid;


Ensure the coordinated operation and stable dispatch of multi-source energy.


**Power Grid Security and Stability Control**


Analyze and optimize voltage, current, and power quality of the distribution system;


Develop protection mechanisms to ensure real-time system stability and security.


**Energy Management and Load Dispatch**


Implement advanced load forecasting and energy dispatch algorithms;


Participate in demand response (DR) strategy design to promote efficient power utilization.


**Simulation and Modeling**


Use tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, DIgSILENT, and PSS/E for system simulation analysis;


Evaluate the impact of different operating schemes on power grid performance.


**Project Implementation and Field Support**


Responsible for project technical coordination, system debugging, and field testing;


Assist in solving technical problems in power grid operation.


**Standards and Compliance Management**


Comply with national and international power standards (IEC, IEEE, ISO, etc.);


Participate in the research and development of new smart grid standards and technical specifications.


**Technological Innovation and Continuous Improvement**


Tracking the latest technological trends in smart grids and the energy internet;


Promoting the application of new technologies (such as edge computing, IoT, and power blockchain) in the power grid.


Job Qualifications:


Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Power System Automation, Energy Engineering, Communication Engineering, or related fields; Master's or PhD preferred.


Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in developing smart grid, distribution automation, or energy management systems (EMS/DMS/SCADA); background in power companies or smart energy enterprises preferred.


Skills:


Familiar with power system operating principles and distribution network structure;


Proficient in power communication protocols and system integration technologies;


Able to perform modeling and simulation (MATLAB, DIgSILENT, ETAP, etc.);


Familiar with Internet of Things (IoT) and data analysis technologies;


Fluent in English, able to read international power standards and technical documents.
